On a sun-filled Sunday at BB&N's Nichols Field, the Mariners jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. Heading into the top of the 6th the M's held a commanding 8-2 lead. But then the Sox bats came alive, pouring on 5 runs and closing the gap to 1 run. With the tying run on second and the go-ahead run on first, M's pitcher Joe Perna was able to get a groundball out to end the game. For the M's, Frank Rich (2-4, 1 RBI), Corey Aldoupolis (2-3, 2 RBI), and Matt Dumont (2-3, 1 RBI) had multi-hit games, as did Jonathan Naumowicz (2-4, 1 RBI) and John Byrne (2-4, 3 RBI) for the White Sox. M's pitcher Pat Walters moved to 2-0.
