A's TAKE GAME 1 SLUGFEST The A's scored in the 1st on a Barton base knock. They got 4 in the 3rd on back-to-back doubles from Balise and M. O'Keefe. The Giants got 3 in the 3rd, with French, Nowlin, and Savas connecting with big hits. The A's scored again in the 5th on another Balise double. But the Giants got 2 in their half with Savas driving a 2-RBI single. In the 6th, M. Asdornvuttikrai and McIntyre hit back-to-back doubles for a run. McIntyre later scored on Barton sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the 7th, French and Montone had RBI hits. The Giants then loaded the bases with one out. Stiffler hit a would-be sacrifice fly, but the A's Barton cut down Clarke at the plate to conclude a wild Game 1. B. O'Keefe got the win; Huber took the save.
