The Mets came quickly out of the gate and put themselves in the playoffs in a game almost completely opposite from Game 1.
Four straight hits from Al Becker, Kit Kadlec (3 runs), Greg Cote (2 RBIs) and Dan Doherty in the first gave the Mets all they would need.
Bill Beauchesne (0 ER, 3Ks) worked four innings on short rest for the win. Kadlec came on to record a three-inning save.
For the Indians, Josh Hale finished the doubleheader with four hits.

The Indians used a 10-hit attack and took advantage of shoddy Mets defense to stay alive in the playoff hunt.
On the mound Jason Deveau pitched a complete game, striking out 3, and walking only 3.
At the plate Marco Abreu had three hits for the Indians and two RBIs. Mark Bowles has two hits and scored three runs.
The Mets got a two-run triple from Dan Doherty in the sixth to get on the board.

The Indians defeated the Reds 4-0 on a warm night at Ryan Field.

Josh Hale threw a complete game three-hitter. He struck out nine and walked one.

Mike Everett knocked in two runs for the Tribe. Nick Bondola went 1-1 with two walks. Bondola also scored three runs.

Marco Abreu went 1-3, scored a run and made a spectacular play at first to keep the Reds off the board. Kevin Faria also threw out a runner at the plate from center.

The Indians beat the D'backs 9-4 under the lights at lush Clifford Field.

Lee Hughes had a big night, going 2-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Hughes swatted a home run into deep right field in the bottom of the second. Marco Abreu also had a hot stick, going 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Mark Bowles went 2-3 with 2 runs, a walk and a stolen base.

Josh Hale picked up the win and Daryl Pina closed the final two frames for the save.

Rockers had a good game for the D'backs, going 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Shellbach also had two hits on the night.

The Indians beat the Dodgers 6-1 at a windy Ryan Field.

Daryl Pina threw a complete game three-hitter. Pina struck out five and walked one.

Nick Bondola went 2-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Mark Bowles also went 2-3, knocked in one and scored two runs. Marco Abreu scored twice.

Garret Fisher pitched well in defeat and also went 1-3 at the plate.

The Indians beat the Cubs 6-1 on a hot night at the Circle.

Jason DeVeau picked up his sixth win of the year. DeVeau allowed two hits and one unearned run over six innings. He struck out eight. Josh Hale closed with a 1-2-3 seventh including two K's.

At the plate, Marco Abreu led the Tribe, going 3-4 with an RBI and run scored. Brook Smith broke open the game in the first, knocking in two with a triple to right. Lee Hughes picked up his 100th career hit, going 1-3 on the night with a run scored.

Shane Steffens pitched well for the Cubs and also went 1-2 with a walk.

Hughes got career hit #100, Sevens won his sixth and Smith knocked in two

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Indians rolled to a 8-0 win over the Orioles.

Daryl Pina was in control on the mound, allowing just five hits and striking out seven to pick up the complete game shutout victory.

At the plate, Marco Abreu, Nick Bondola and Mark Bowles all had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. The trio also combined for 7 of the Indians' 8 runs. Kevin Faria went 2-3 with a double, a triple and a run scored. Brian Greene also had three hits.

For the O's, Cacciatore went 2-2 with a walk. Oxley went 1-3 with a long triple.

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Indians defeated the Orioles in extra innnings, 6-5.

After falling behind 5-0 after two, the Tribe battled back with a five-run fifth. The game remained locked at 5-5 until Lee Hughes knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Hughes finished the day with a double, a run and an RBI. Mark Bowles went 2-4 with a double and a run.

Josh Hale pitched six shutout innings in relief to pick up the win. Hale struck out five and gave up three hits.

For the O's, Barton pitched eight strong innings but took the tough loss. Barton struck out eight with just one walk. Jason Bressner had two hits.

The Indians defeated the Cubs 4-1 Wednesday night at EB Stadium.

Jason DeVeau picked up his fifth victory of the season, throwing 5 and 1/3 innings of 3-hit ball. DeVeau allowed just one earned run and struck out 8 Cubs.

Marco Abreu and Brook Smith both had an RBI and run scored for the Tribe. Josh Hale closed with 1 and 2/3 innings of no hit ball to pick up the save, and also went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.

For the Cubs, Shane Steffens went 1-3 and knocked in a run. Petro and Bristol also had hits for the Cubbies.

Jay Legere and Daryl Pina battled it out at East Boston field in the 1st of 2 games for the Royals on Sunday. Legere went the distance giving up only 1ER while scattering 9 hits and walking only 2 to pick up his 1st win of the year in his 1st start of the year. Legere's sole ER came on a Balk call in the 3rd inning. Daryl Pina also pitched a strong complete game allowing only 5 hits and striking out 8 along the way. Unfortunately for Pina, the Indians committed 7 errors on the day that led to all of the Royals' 4 runs.

The star of the day for the Royals was their defense, keyed by SS Felix Villalobos, which came up with big plays all day and helped Legere work out of some tough jams.

On offense Villalobos had a key 2RBI single in the 7th to provide the Royals with their margin of victory. For the Indians, Josh Hale went 3 for 3 with a 2B and a run scored. Mark Bowles went 2 for 3 with a 2RBI single in the bottom of the 7th.

Legere and Pina throw matching complete games. Felix gets it done with the glove and at the plate

The White Sox beat the Indians in an extremely competitive game at EB Stadium.

Mike Lembo had the game winning hit in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Al Wiesner. Brian Houlding got the win with 2 hitless innings of relief while Daryl Pina took the loss.

The game featured 2 bases loaded double plays, 3 runners caught stealing, a man thrown out at third on a sac fly to left, and a man thrown out at the plate on a single to center.

Mike Lembo delivers GWBRI scoring Al Wiesner, who also stole home in the game.

Chris O'Sullivan pitched out of a jam in the 7th inning in recording a complete game victory today 3-2 over the Indians at E.Boston Stadium. O'Sullivan (4-0) allowed 7 hits and an uncharacteristic 6 walks. The Braves took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd on a Rick Swanson RBI Single. Jason DeVeau pitched well in defeat for the Indians, giving up only 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Kevin Faria was 3-3 in defeat for the Indians.

Improves to 4-0 on the season.

The Indians survived a late inning scare to hold off the Mariners, 7-6.

Josh Hale picked up the win, while Daryl Pina closed out the last two innings for his third save.

Nick Bondola went 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Mark Bowles and Brian Greene also crossed the plate twice.

For the Mariners, EJ Freni was perfect at the plate, going 2-2 with a walk and 2 runs. Corey Aldouplis went 1-3 with 2 RBIs and a run.

The Indians beat the Astros 5-0 behind the strong pitching of Jason DeVeau.

DeVeau pitched six innings, allowing no runs while striking out 13 'stros and giving up just three hits. Daryl Pina closed with a scoreless seventh.

Nick Bondola led the Tribe at the plate, going 3-4 with a double and 3 runs scored. Marco Abreu went 2-3 with two doubles, and Pina also added 2 hits and 3 RBI's.

For the Astros, Ricupero picked up two of his team's hits from the leadoff spot.

DeVeau strikes out 13 in six, Pina and Bondo picked things up at the plate.
