A 1st inning 6U-4-3 triple play turned by a Spartan infield contingent of Lopez-Jones-Songin set the tone early. The Spartans were lead by the Curran brothers in all phases of the game, combining to go 5-8 with 4 RBIs while scattering 6 hits and allowing no earned runs over 6 innings. With some assistance from Shamus Barrett's orange glove, Chris Curran turned heads in his 2017 debut on the bump, striking out 3 Minutemen over 2 innings. When asked about the key to his success on the day, Chris Curran could be heard muttering the words "Ya gotta want it."

In the Lexington Minutemen's first game of the year they did not disappoint. The team came out strong against the Brockton A's and Eric Brooks wheeled and dealt all day in his first pitching performance back after taking a year off. Solid hitting and pitching helped the Minutemen win this game and hopefully put us on the right trajectory to win more games this season!
