Kyle Breidenstine (2-0) worked seven masterful innings, striking out seven Grays in the winning effort. But his no-hit bid was broken up by Steve Baldassari with 2 outs in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Nick Tapper (3-for-4) provided all the offense the A's would need. He put the A's on the board with an RBI single in the third, and he cleared the bases with a fourth inning double, pushing his RBI total to 4 for the game and an unfathomable 12 for the season.

Rathapoom "Buddha" Asdornvuttikrai and Jordan Krall also recorded multi-hit games for the A's, who move to 5-0 on the season. And would-be relief pitcher Jason Kurtz showed that he can handle the stick too, ripping a single down the line.

Both teams will get some rest over the next two weeks. The Grays look to bounce back on May 31 against the Padres. The A's take on the Spinners on Saturday.
