Boston Havoc 8, Somerville Senators 4
The Havoc jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, as the first 4 batters reached and scored. Yet, the Senators bounced right back with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the frame.
What started out as a slugfest settled into a tight game the rest of the way.
Mitch Philibert improved to 4-0 with a complete game. After the first Senators batter of the game reached on a misplayed ball to the outfield which ultimately allowed 3 unearned runs to score, Philibert allowed just 1 run the rest of the way. While the Senators had 13 hits, led by Darren Hartwell with 4, they stranded 11 runners.
For the Havoc, a 2-RBI base hit by Emilio King in the second inning would give the Havoc a 6-3 lead, and all the runs they would need. Adam Anderson knocked in 2 insurance runs with a 5th inning hit to make the score 8-4.
Of note, Jordan Siu got hit with a pitch for the 11th time of the season, which has to be a record, right? |
