Cambridge Spinners 7, Waltham Athletics 2
For the fifth consecutive year, the Spinners have reached the league finals. They beat the A's 7-2 and swept the series three games to none. Pat Donahoe came on in relief for a struggling Nick Bonofiglio and held Waltham to just two hits over 3.2 innings.
Down 1-0 in the first, Cambridge rallied for three runs. Nick Sieber and Colin Sullivan hit back-to-back doubles and drove in runs. Sullivan finished the night with three RBIs. Mike Navarro drove in a run later in the inning.
The Spinners defense got out of a jam in the third inning, keeping the A's off the board with runners on second and third and a bases loaded jam in the fourth.
Brett O'Keefe walked and scored in the first and Nick Barton reached on an error in the second and scored on a Rob Muollo double.
The Spinners now await the winner of the Sox-Grays series for the finals. |
