Newton Dodgers 4, Middleboro Red Sox 3
The Dodgers staged a 7th inning rally to secure a comeback victory against the Red Sox in Middleboro on Sunday afternoon. The Dodgers were without a hit going into the top of the 7th. First, Drew Cumming broke up the no-hitter with a line shot to center field. Turner and Hersh then drew consecutive walks followed by cleanup hitter Trevor Barsamian being hit by a pitch, forcing the first Dodgers run to the plate. Dave Dow hit a sacrifice fly to plate the second run and then Hersh scored on a past ball. Jeff Hall capped the rally with a single to bring in Barsamian for the go-ahed winning run. Shawn Chattin threw 7 strong innings for the Dodgers in his first start of the season, stifling several Red Sox rallies and recording 4 K's. |
