A back and forth game where the teams seemed to trade runs all night, Cannon comes out on top in 8 innings. Towne takes the lead in the top of extras when Godin hits a double to right and advances to third when the relay throw riccochets off the tree branch and then scores on Picco's sac fly. Cannon loads the bases in the bottom with hits by Newton and Flannery, and a walk by Gardner. With one out, Colon drives in the tying run for his 2nd rbi on the night.
