A's OVER BLUE JAYS IN EARLY SEASON ACTION; BREIDENSTINE BESTS BUIKA IN BATTLE OF KYLES. Despite the cold, the A's bats were hot tonight at Chelsea High. Jays' ace Kyle Buika came out strong, but the A's finally broke through in the fourth, pushing three runs across the plate. And they never looked back from there. Five A's had multi-hit games. Patrick Vetter led the A's offense with an astounding 4 for 4 performance at the dish. In his A's debut, Jordan Krall went 3 for 4. Alan Donaruma added a triple to the hit parade. And Nick Tapper, also 3 for 4, drove in 3 with two monster blasts to deep, deep left. On the hill, Kyle Breidenstine went five strong and picked up the win. He struck out five and scattered six hits in the effort. Jason Kurtz shutout the Jays in the sixth. And Angelo Guisado tossed a 1-2-3 seventh. For the Jays, Greg Norton chipped in two hits, and Eddie Pickett legged out a triple to right center.
