Steve Leahy tossed a complete game 4-hitter for the O's, striking out 8. In a low scoring game, the O's jumped on the board early. In the 1st inning, Leahy scored the first run, taking home on a wild pitch. Othniel Vizcaino then drove in Juan Arias to stake the O's to a 2-0 lead.
