After a tough loss to the White Sox the Spinners looked to get back on track against the heavy hitting, undefeated A's squad. In the top 1st with 2 outs M.Knell would reach base on a HBP and then proceeded to steal 2nd. Next batter, O.Caceres, singles down the LF line to score the first run of the game. In the 2nd the A's tied the game on a Lamoureux HR to right field. The HR was a blip on the screen for starter D.Blomerth, as he quieted the A's big bats all game with 6 SO, 1 BB and only 2 hits through 5 IP. In the 4th Cambridge put up 2 more on a D.Caceres RBI and a balk by the A's pitcher. After a commendable performance by Blomerth he would give way to the bullpen to shut the door. Doerr took care of the 6th and Mattina did his job of closing it out. A's pitcher, Guisado, pitched well in defeat giving up just 4 hits.
