Wed, 25 July, 7:30PM, at Rogers Park
South End Astros 5, Brighton Minutemen 4
The Astros get 5 strong innings from pitcher Stevie Melo, who magically wiggled his away out of jam after jam all night. Roger Peguero, who usually carries the Astros with his bat, pitched a scoreless 6th and 7th inning for his first save of the season.
The Astros big inning was the 3rd, in which Omar Ortiz (3-4, 2R, 2B, RBI) and Ray Malagon (1-4, 2B, RBI) were driven in by Carl Rodriguez (2-4, 2RBI) to tie the game. Rodriguez would later score the winning run on a Josh Valerio (2-3) RBI walk.
For the Minutemen, Rob Linn was his usual self smashing the ball all over the park all night! |
