In a rain shortened game at Ryan Field on Friday night the Astros came back from a 7-0 first inning deficit to beat the Reds 10-7. Josh Vernon went the distance to get the win for the 'stros. He allowed only one base-runner and no hits after the first inning. He also stole two bases and scored a run. Mike Vernon had a break-out game at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. In the third inning, Corey Edgar hit a monstrous triple to drive in Mike Vernon and Kevin Gorman. Mark Thibeault was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. The entire Reds line-up reached base in the first as they exploded for seven runs on five hits.
