Boston Padres 9, Carlson 7
Osvaldo Santana(2 for 3,3 rbi's) basesloaded clearing double in the 1st inning got the Padres off on the right foot, followed by a Glenroy James' missle to right-center for another run to lead 5-0 after one. Darwin Mesa kept the hitters pretty much in check only allowing 3 unearned runs in the 4th until running out of gas in the 6th, when Starling Arias came out of the pen to pick off the lead run from 2nd with 2 outs to end the inning then when on to pitch a clean 9th to get his 1st win of the season. In the bottom of the 6th Cashbee Calderon and Omar Kennedy pulled off a double steal for the lead run and then Chris Plant delivered the insurance with single to right. |
