The Rockies offense got started early, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first. That's all they would need as starter Ken Kilduff, along with relievers Josh Connors and Jay Wisner combined for a five-hit shutout. Rookie Pete John (3-4, 2R, 2RBI) continued his hot hitting while Steve Corda (3-4, RBI) also had a big night at the plate. Second year Rockie Frankie Ciampa (3-4, Dbl, 2R, RBI) was stellar with the bat as well as with the leather as he made three sparkling plays at second base to go along with his three hits. For the Braves, Todd Aronson (1-2, BB) reached base twice.
