The Tigers continued their battery attack, going 2-0 on the weekend, belting out 23 hits in the two games. On Sunday, they did it behind the arm of All Star, Rich Wlodarczyk, who pitched a gem. Offensively, every Tiger in the starting lineup chipped in with a hit, the biggest coming off the bats of Stevens & Copson. With one out and the game tied 1-1 in the 6th, Silk roped a single, stole 2nd, and was later driven in by Stevens to make the score 2-1. With two outs in the bottom of the 7th, the tribe tied the score 2-2 on a clutch hit from Nick Bondola, a 2-out shot to Kelly in right, who made a diving attempt but came up short. In the top of the 9th, Long led off with a single and then reached 2nd on a wild pitch. Kelly executed a great bunt, moving Long to 3rd, who then scored on Copson's clutch hit. Riordan earned his 1st MABL win, shutting the door 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th, one of the outs a sick diving catch from Silky. |
