After a rough first inning, Matt Coyne settled down and pitched a complete game striking out 9 with 3 coming in the top of the 7th. In the 4th, Eric Clancy (1-2, 3B, 4RBI, 1R, SAC) brought the Senators within 1 with a 3 run triple to deep left. Dennis Ingram then tied it up with a sacrifice fly to left. In the 5th, Ack (2-3, 2B, 1RBI, 1R, 1SB) led off with a single and then stole second. Joe Lombardi followed with a walk and Jim O'Donnell sacrificed the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Rafael Mejia (1-1, 2BB, 1R) walked and Ackerson then scored on an error. Clancy sealed the deal with a sacrifice fly to left. For the Padres, Steve Baldassari went 2-3 and Charles Luoma was 3-4.
