Kennedy tosses the complete game and outduels Magee to lead the 'stros into first place in the Bay State. Game was played in an hour and a half and K and Mags combine to throw 46 pitches. OK, so it wasn't 46 pitches...but it seemed like it. The Reds took a 1-0 lead in the second when Kennedy walked the lead off batter Jason Ellingson. The next batter, Carlos Mejia delivered a double that scored Ellingson from first. In the fifth, the Astros took the lead. Ron Viola reached on strikeout (WP), Rich Newman singled (Viola to third), Sean Dowling doubled driving in Viola, and then Jon Mayes shredded a two-run single for the 3-1 lead. The Astros are now 12-4 and atop the division for the first time since they had Nolan Ryan and Mike Scott.
