Malden Storm 5, Waltham Red Sox 2
Well played game. Dave Marsters was the story, striking out 9 and walking only 1 in pitching a complete game over a solid Waltham squad. Gary Vallerand put the Waltham team on his shoulders with 2 doubles and throwing out 3 guys from behind the dish, but it wasn't enough. Key play in the 8th by Marsters fielding an attempted sac bunt and getting the lead runner and the highlight was a catch in the 9th by Jerry Breen that can only be described as as good as Coco's best. The best I've ever seen in person. |
