Scituate Tides 12, Natick Knights 5
Tides take home their 2nd championship in 3 years!!! Game was much closer than score would indicate. Lary Cibotti and Rob Monti (Cy Young winner if they gave it out) combine on the hill for the win. More details on the message board, as for some reason, I'm sure to run out of space on 400.hitter... |

Leaders at the plate for Scituate were Danny OBrien (3-4, big 2-RBI single in the 7th), Brendan Stone (2-4), Miguel Miranda (2-4, long double where Jason Pithie was heard saying "that ball stays in two parks - Yellowstone and Adams Field in Quincy"), Mike Casey (2-3, another long double), and Hometown Tony Anderlionis (2-4).

Wed, 12 September, 8:00PM, at Somerville - Trum
Scituate Tides 3, Medford Mets 2
This game was what playoff baseball is all about, as Scituate wins in 10 innings to move on to the semifinals. It was a classic playoff pitchers duel between Larry Cibotti and Steve Hueston, both of whom went the distance. Cibotti picks up the win, scattering 7 hits and striking out 12. Hueston also pitches well enough to win, striking out 18 Tides.
Tides start the scoring in the 3rd when Jason Pithie singles and is driven in by a RBI triple of the bat of Phil Banks. Scituate would add another run in the 7th as Thom Holdgate leads off with a single and is driven in by a Dan O'Brien single to right. But Medford would not go quietly, as in the 8th Kiley singles and Collins reaches via a tough hop error. Both would score via a fielders choice and single.
In the 10th Brendan Stone leads off with an infield single. Hero of the night O'B comes through again with a two-out RBI triple to drive in the eventual winning run. Medford woul |

Garafano started for Medford but was forced to leave in the 2nd due to a calf injury. Eli Munkholm comes on in relief and pitches very well, despite not being 100%, keeping the Tides off balance for several innings. Sabino played well behind the dish blocking balls all day and throwing out a a couple would be base stealers.
Game 2 Tuesday barring a hurricane. |

Scituate Tides 7, Medford Mets 6
Rob Monti goes to 7-0 on the bump. Danny OBrien homers. Miranda (2-3) and Anderlionis (2-2) lead O for Scituate. Controversial ending as the slide or avoid rule comes into play to end the game as Medford attempted to tie in the 7th. Tides think the blue got it right, Mets thought otherwise.
Medford's Munkholm takes the tough loss. Johns and Kiley ripped all day.
