Indians 1, Dodgers 0
For the second time in three weeks, Daryl Pina shut out the Dodgers to lead the Tribe to victory. Dan Petro was nearly as good, allowing just one run on an RBI single by Kevin Polansky.
All in all it was an extremely tight game with great plays on both sides. Congrats to the Dodgers on a phenomenal two year run as League Champs. |

Ken Kilduff earns his 7th win tossing 5 innings of shutout ball. Mike Moloney's 2 out, 2 run single in the top of the 1st would give the Yanks all the runs they would need. Kyle Philson had two hits including a would-be homerun that turned into a double thanks to the left field tree at Chelsea HS. |

Mariners 12, Dodgers 11
On one of the hottest days of the summer, the Mariners battled back from an early 8-1 hole to beat the Dodgers 12-11. After a few late lead changes the Mariners scored two in the top of the seventh to go up one run, which was surprisingly all that was needed to win on a day when 23 runners crossed the plate and 25 hits were cranked out.
For the Mariners, the story of the game was the relief pitching of EJ Freni. The potent Dodger offense came up with 8 of their 13 hits through the first two innings. Freni would allow only 4 more over the remaining 5 innings, including retiring seven straight to end the game.
Offensively, the M's were led by Jamie Aldoupolis (4 RBI) and Rocco Rauseo (3 hits).
For the Dodgers, Dan Petro (2 singles, 1 HR), Adam Howes (3 singles), and Casey Turner (2 singles, 1 HR) each collected 3 hits. |

White Sox 10, Dodgers 6
Behind the arm of Brian Houlding, the White Sox defeated the Dodgers, 10-6. In the game, Houlding, set career highs for wins in a season (7) and strikeouts in a game (12).
A tie game at 3-3 going into the 5th inning, Dodgers starter Dan Petro was removed due to a tired arm and replaced by William Bock. The Sox welcomed Bock right away with 4 hits and 2 runs from RBI singles from Kyle Michaud and Jason Hoye. The Sox exploded for 5 more runs in the 6th inning to add some needed insurance, proven as the Dodgers battled back with 3 runs in the 7th.
For the White Sox, Will Bissonnette (3 for 4, double), Kyle Michaud (2 for 4), Jason Hoye (2 for 4), Earl Murphy (2 for 4, double) had multi-hit games. Dan Petro smacked a pair of hits for the Dodgers.
For the first time in 65 plate appearances, Jason Hoye struck out. This string outlasted the previous record of 60 straight plate appearances set by Sean McCarty of the Astros in 1996. |
