Bryan Gauvin pitched a 3-hit complete game shutout to send the Yanks to their 4th MABL Championship Series in the last 5 years. Gauvin struck out 9 while walking just 2. For the Fish, Kit Kadlec pitched well on 4 days rest but picked up the loss.

The Yanks scored all their runs in the 3rd. Frank Kowalski (2-2) led off with a single and stole second. Todd Steffanide’s (1-3, RBI) double and Ned Coffee’s (1-3, RBI) single each brought in a run. A 3rd run scored on a Bluefish error.

AJ Bucciarelli (Yanks) and Al Becker (Bluefish) had multihit games.

The Bluefish bounced back on Wednesday to even the 3 game series at 1 with a 2-0 win at Chelsea High. Kit Kadlec continued his scoreless inning streak at 14 with the complete game shutout. Kadlec gave up 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. Ken Kilduff threw very well as the spot starter for the Yankees (with Gauvin stuck at work). Kilduff gave up 6 hits and two earned runs while walking 3 and striking out 8. The Bluefish got on the board in the 4th after a leadoff single by Kadlec, it was a perfect hit and run by Al Becker down the RF line scoring Kadlec from first. They added an insurance run in the 6th on a 2 out single by Jeremy Creveling, scoring Mark Doucette, who was hit by a pitch. Game 3, Saturday, at Moakley Park in South Boston, gametime 10am.

Backed by the strong pitching of Quinn Ryan, the Yankees won the 1st game of the Atlantic Conference Championship 6-1. Ryan allowed just 1 ER over 7 innings on 5 hits while striking out 8. Ryan’s only blemish was a solo homerun to Chris Harrington in the 4th.

Offensively, the Yanks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st after a lead off walk by AJ Bucciarelli (1-3), a single by Mike Moloney (2-4, RBI) and an RBI single by Tim Troville (1-2, RBI). The Yanks then got some breathing room in the 3rd scoring 3 runs highlighted by a Jeff McHugh (1-3, triple, 2 RBI) 2-out, 2 RBI triple.

Chris O’Sullivan took the complete game loss for the Bluefish. Kit Kadlec and Mark Doucette had multi-hit games for the fish.

Bluefish sweep the White Sox and advance to the Atlantic Conference Finals for their first time in team history. Bill Beauchesne went the distance in victory, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run, while walking 1 and striking out 7.
On offense, the Bluefish were led by Jim Belcastro, who went 4-4 with 2 runs scored, and Chris Harrington who went 2-3 with 2 RBI's. Al Weisner pitched well in relief for the White Sox, going 3 2-3 allowing only 1 run. Offensively, the White Sox had single hits from Hoye, Fitzgerald, Martin, and Pane.

Bluefish Ace Kit Kadlec outdueled Eamonn McDonough on Wednesday Night as the Bluefish take Game 1 of the Conference Semifinals 1-0. Kadlec's Line: 7IP 3H 0R 0ER 1BB 8SO. The Bluefish scored the lone run of the game in the 4th inning, when with one out Mike Knell walked, advanced to 2nd on a sac bunt by Kadlec, and scored on a 2 out single by Al Becker. McDonough was impressive as always, going 7IP, 5H 1R 1ER 3BB 8SO. Game 2 will be Friday Night at Billings, 8pm.

The Bluefish broke open a 7-7 game with a 9 run bottom of the 4th on their way to a 17-8 win on Thursday Night at Ryan Field. Mark Doucette (3 RBI), Dave Zalzal, and Kit Kadlec (5 RBI) each had 2 hits for the Bluefish (18-7-1).

Chris Harrington's bases clearing double in the bottom of the 3rd broke up a tight game and propelled the Bluefish to a 6-3 victory on Sunday at Ryan Field. Kit Kadlec and Bart Lawyer added RBI hits in the 3rd and 4th innings respectively. Bill Beauchesne went the distance for his 3rd win of the season. Beauchense took a 1 hitter into the 6th inning before Andrew Marenghi got his 2nd (and the team's 2nd) hit of the game. Beauchense's shutout was broken on a 1 out ground out by Tom Spoth, scoring Marenghi. The Royals rallied in the 7th with 4 hits by Reinold, Christenson, Kurtz, and Palumbo, but Beauchesne settled down by getting a strikeout and a double play to end the game. With the win, the Bluefish clinch the #3 seed from the Atlantic Conference in the upcoming playoffs.

Chris Allen put in another solid effort picking up his third win in a row for the Reds. He was met with equally good pitching from Chris O'Sulllivan. Allen went the full seven giving up 1. O'Sullivan gave up 2 unearned runs.
Matt Bloomer kept a hot bat smacking three hits. Sean Magee stayed hot with another two hits.
Mike Knell led the offense for the Bluefish with two doubles.

Allen and O'Sullivan battle the heat and both pitch gems.

Kadlec also went 2-3 with an RBI single. Wisner went 7 allowing 6 hits and 3 earned, while walking 3 and striking out 6. Chris Caprio played a great defensive game at Short for the Cardinals.

Making only his 2nd start of the season, Rookie Nate Renteria spun a gem as the Bluefish (15-6-1) defeated the Orioles 5-2 Sunday Morning at Fallon Field. Renteria went the distance allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run, while walking 2 and striking out 10. Jeremy Creveling and Al Becker each had 2 hits in victory for the Bluefish. Udell was the hard luck loser for the Orioles, going 7 innings while striking out 7 and allowing 2 earned runs.

The Metrowest Duel Part 2.......As the Giants and Bluefish matched up in another highly contested pitcher's duel, this time between 6 game winner Chris O'Sullivan and 3-0 Steve Corda. O'Sullivan was the victor this time, going 6 1-3 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, while walking 4 and striking out 9. The Bluefish snapped a 11 inning scoreless streak in the bottom of the 5th on a Chris Harrington Sac Fly, tying the game at 1. Jeff Decoteau then hit a 2 out Double down the left field line to give the Giants a 2-1 lead. Bottom of the 6th, bases loaded 1 out, Jeremy Creveling hit a 2 run double just out of the reach of a diving Mike Byrne, giving the Bluefish a 3-2 lead. Kit Kadlec recorded the last 2 outs for his 2nd save of the year. Steve Corda pitched very well in defeat for the Giants, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs over 6 innings of work, with 10 strikeouts.

Joe Albano threw a three-hit shutout in his second outing of the season to improve to 2-0 on the year. All of the scoring came in the 6th on one swing of the bat by Steve Corda. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Corda delivered a triple to the fence scoring both runners and scored himself on an errant throw. Other offense came from Dan Dileo, who delivered a 3-hit performance. The Giants improve to 11-9 on the year.
Bart Lawyer had 2 hits for the Bluefish and Bill Beauchesne delivered an outstanding performance on the mound.

Albano and Corda delivered for the Giants and Lawyer provided two hits for the Bluefish

In a memorable pitching duel at Bedford High School, Neil Doherty (11IP,5K,2BB) topped Kit Kadlec (10.1IP,8K) 3-2 in 11 innings. The Bluefish took the lead 2-1 in the top of the 11th. The Marlins responded with 2 runs in the bottom half, capped by a Kevin Brennan single up the middle that scored Karl Cyr and Chris Ryan.
