Facing playoff elimination, the Cutters were down to their final 3 outs of the season losing 1-0. With 1st and 2nd in the 7th, a misplayed double play ball turned into a run to tie the game.

In the bottom of the 8th, Brett Manley delivered in walkoff style by roping a triple to LF to score Dana Levansaler from 1st.

Dan Wilson got the No decision while striking out 15 in 7 innings. Brian Rosinski pitched the 8th to earn the W. Tim Varakis had a multihit gm.

The Cutters hung around after the game while waiting for the Red Sox/Spinners results which also went to extras. A Red Sox loss gave the Cutters the last playoff seed as the Cutters had to win 3 of their last 4 games to make the playoffs.

Backed by the hitting of Mike Knell and Mark Killoren and great Spinners pitching, Cambridge reached the 20-win plateau with a 5-2 win over the Dodgers.

Marty Clarke earned the win, pitching four innings and striking out two. Pat Donahoe pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Pat Clapp earned his record setting seventh save of the season, becoming the MABLs all time single season saves leader.

Down 2-0 in the second, the Spinners bats came alive with five hits. Mike Tufo and Danny Caceres drove in runs to tie the game. A Knell single and Killoren double allowed Ryan Feeney to drive in a run and for Cambridge to take the lead. Knell and Colin Sullivan scored runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close out the scoring.

Alex Ahmed had two hits for the Dodgers and Zach Guarino and Drew Cumming scored in the top of the first inning.

In a potential playoffs preview, the Dodgers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, which Mike Cole protected into the 5th inning. After loading the bases, Rudy Hersh walked to score a run, before a Mello grounder and Barsamian sac fly plated 3 more runs. The White Sox battled back in the bottom of the inning, scoring 3 runs before a 4-6-3 double play ended the threat. Nick Mello cut down his second runner of the game in the bottom of the 7th, spoiling a lead-off single, before Mike Cole picked up the final two outs, and his 7th win of the season.

Joff Smith picks up his first win of the year keeping the hot Dodgers bats off balance through 6 innings striking out 7.

Smith kept the Giants in the game until there offense finally woke up in the 5th on a Jon Savas 2-run home run. The Giants would tack on 4 more in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to cruise to an 11-4 victory.

The Giants are back in action tomorrow night against the White Sox in Charlestown.

The Giants jump back into sole possession of first place with a 6-0 win against the Dodgers in East Boston. Tom Plumitallo threw a CG shutout giving up only 3 hits and striking out 7.

The Giants offense had runners on in almost every inning but was not able to break through until the 4th on a Zac Stiffler RBI single. They would add runs each of the next 2 innings and finally blew the game open on a Paul Branche 2 RBI triple in the 6th.

The Giants are back in action Monday night when they take on the Spinners.

It was a pitchers' duel Sunday morning in Newton, with Kyle Breidenstine and Mike Cole squaring off. Scoreless through 3, Rudy Hersh led off the 4th with a double to left center, then came around to score on an Ivan Torres single, which proved to be the only offensive production in the game.

Mike Cole surrendered just 2 hits over 7 innings, pitching himself out of a bases loaded jam in the 3rd. Breidenstine went the distance for the A's, allowing just 4 hits. The Dodgers and A's split the season series at 2 games a piece.

Despite 4 strong innings from starter Jeff Hall, the Dodgers found themselves in a 3-1 hole following some defensive miscues and timely hitting from the Orioles. The Dodgers bats came alive in the 5th, with hits from Dan Turner and Alex Ahmed, followed by a Matt Duignan double. The Dodgers manufactured a run each in the 6th and 7th innings, and Tyler Dee threw two scoreless to pick up the win. Shawn Chattin closed the door in the 7th to get the save.

The Dodgers staged a 7th inning rally to secure a comeback victory against the Red Sox in Middleboro on Sunday afternoon. The Dodgers were without a hit going into the top of the 7th. First, Drew Cumming broke up the no-hitter with a line shot to center field. Turner and Hersh then drew consecutive walks followed by cleanup hitter Trevor Barsamian being hit by a pitch, forcing the first Dodgers run to the plate. Dave Dow hit a sacrifice fly to plate the second run and then Hersh scored on a past ball. Jeff Hall capped the rally with a single to bring in Barsamian for the go-ahed winning run. Shawn Chattin threw 7 strong innings for the Dodgers in his first start of the season, stifling several Red Sox rallies and recording 4 K's.

Phil Carignan outlasted Mike Cole in a great pitchers duel at Moxley Field in Watertown. Carignan threw 8 innings giving up only 1 hit, no earned and striking out 6.

The Giants offense had plenty of chances but Cole was able to pitch out of most of them. The Giants put the first 2 men on in the 8th but Cole was able to get Jon Savas to ground into a 5-3 double play. With a man on 2nd and 2 outs, Zac Stiffler stepped up and ripped a base hit up the middle allowing Joff Smith to score. The Giants are now 10-2 at the halfway point of the season and look to improve on their record Sunday against the A's.

Mike Cole went the distance once again as the Dodgers topped the Red Sox 5-2 on a sunny morning in Newton. The Dodgers plated four runs during a 2nd inning rally and tacked on their final insurance run in the fifth on a well executed safety squeeze by shortstop Alex Ahmed sending centerfielder Drew Cumming home for the fifth and final Dodgers run. The Red Sox threatened in the top of the 7th with the bases loaded but Cole slammed the door notching his team-leading fifth win of the season. Guarino, Hall, and Ahmed recorded RBIs for the Dodgers. Ahmed, drew two walks, also stole four bases.

Willie Lopez picked up his first win of the season, throwing a complete game. Down 4-1 entering the bottom of the 6th, the O's bats exploded for 6 runs, led by a clutch 3-run HR by Joan Cordero. Jason Bressner then plated Greg Syrek to give the Orioles the lead, the Birds followed up with a couple of insurance runs, and Lopez made it all hold up in the final frame.

Cordero (3RBI), Bressner (2RBI), Cam Kelly and Chance Andersen each chipped in with two hits apiece to pace the Orioles offensively.

For the Dodgers, Jeff Hall threw 5 strong innings of 1-run ball, and Zach Guarino led the Dodgers' attack with a pair of hits and 2 RBI.

A strong complete game from Mike Cole and timely hitting by the Dodgers lineup helped push the Dodgers to a 7-2 victory over the Spinners. The squads met on consecutive days and the Dodgers win split the "series" with one win per team.

The Spinners edged the Dodgers in a pitcher's duel 2-1 in Newton. Luc Kocher pitched a complete game, striking out eight.

Cambridge scored in the second when Mark Killoren singled and later scored on a Mike Navarro single. They added to their lead in the third when Colin Sullivan walked and Mike Knell drove him in on a sac fly.

Jeff Hall pitched a complete game for the Dodgers, giving up four hits while striking out three. He also drove in the lone run for Newton in the third. The Dodgers had the tying run on base in the bottom of the seventh, but a Bobby Maccioli catch ended the rally and the game.

The Spinners will look to stay undefeated tomorrow night in Waltham.

A's pull out their first win of the year on a wet night in Waltham. Jason Kurtz threw 5 innings for the A's, keeping solid command of his pitches on a wet night. Offensively, the A's took advantage of a few miscues, as well as 7 walks by Dodgers pitching. BonMcIntyre made his season debut and had 2 hits for the A's.

The Giants bats stay awake after a 3 week layoff as they take down the Dodgers in Newton. Jared Walsh temporarily blew the game open with a bases loaded triple during a 6 run 4th inning for the Giants. The pesky Dodgers would battle back with 2 in the 7th, but Walsh came in to close the door and get the Giants some retribution from last years playoffs.

Abel Faron drove in his first MABL RBI while Phil Carignon continued his torrid pace going 3-3 with a walk.

The Giants are back in action Thursday night in Roslindale against the Orioles.

The Dodgers prevailed in a lopsided affair at Newton South High School this Sunday. Jeff Hall pitched a no-hitter through the fifth inning before handing the reins to the Dodgers bullpen for the final two innings. Nearly every Dodger in the lineup reached base at least once with seven of the home team's runs coming through back to back rallies in the 3rd and 4th innings. Trevor Barsamian and Drew Cumming each recorded two hits and Dave Dow reached base in every at bat. Rookie Mike Tobias smashed a timely double to fuel the 3rd inning rally. Matt McPherson made his debut for the Dodgers on the mound, recording two K's in the sixth inning.

Mike Cole went the distance on Opening Day for the Dodgers, carrying a no-hitter into the 7th inning. Cole struck out 8 in a dominant performance from the mound. The Dodgers got all of their offense during a fifth inning rally capped by a triple blasted down the right field line by left fielder Evan Ordway. Leadoff batter Brandon Linton added two hits to the Dodgers attack. Dodgers win 5-0 at their new home field of Newton South High School.
