Cambridge Cantabs 6, Braintree Braves 0
In the deciding game 3 of the first round series between the Cambridge Cantabs and Braintree Braves, the 'Tabs emerged victorious by a score of 6-0 behind clutch pitching from Joe Perna and timely hitting from the top of the Cambridge lineup. Perna, who picked up his second win in the series (16 total IP, 0 ER), pitched brilliantly and Jim Griglun had a huge first inning 3-RBI triple to set the tone.
A massive tip of the cap to the Braintree Braves who had a terrific season. These guys are as classy on/off the field as they are dominant on the diamond. And it starts with their manager, Johnny Hayes, and goes right down the roster. |

Cambridge Cantabs 5, Braintree Braves 2
In the opening round series between the Cambridge Cantabs and the Braintree Braves, it was the Cambridge 9 that drew first blood by picking up the game 1 win. Fueled by timely hitting - including a first inning 2-RBI double by Corey Aldoupolis - and solid starting pitching from Joe Perna (CG, 7 hits, 0ER), the underdog 'Tabs head to Fallon on Tuesday for game 2 of the series with their work still veyr much cut out for them. Should be a doozy.
Steve Hueston pitched very well in the loss, and Jon Tenney added 2 hits for the Braves offense.
See you Tuesday night in Roslindale! |
