WP Mike Cook (3-0)
LP JT Ross (1-2)

Solid pitching for the Malden Bulldogs as Mike Cook improves to 3-0 on the season. Kenny Olisky gets his 1st action on the bump in relief after dealing with shoulder issues in 2011 which limited him on the mound. Luis Lara continues with the hot bat going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.

Solid pitching once again by YBL veteran JT Ross of the Brighton Black Sox. A couple of key hits here and there by Malden were the only thing that kept the crafty lefty from the win. Hits were hard to come by against him tonight. Tim Varkis 2-3 on the night as well as Colin Riggs 2-3.

WP - Kenny Luongo (3-0)
LP - Tom Fitzpatrick (0-4)
S - Jeff Allison (1)

Once again the YBL pitching has improved up and down the league as a whole. Hits were scattered at best in this game with both teams having chances. A Couple of bad "McConnell" bounces helped the visiting team tonight and timely hitting with runners on base was the difference maker.

Tough loss once again by newcomer Tom Fitzpatrick. Win / Loss column does not do this young man justice as he once again pitched well in the loss. McKay Club had their runners on base and were very steady with multiple SB's to get runners in scoring position all night long but Malden Bulldogs were able to get out of a few jams.

Kenny Luongo for Malden Bulldogs proved again to be "slow" and steady as he improved to 3-0 on the young season. Solid 2 innings of relief by Evan Tardugno who has finished his extended "spring training" and seems to have found his "mojo" from 2011. Sol

South End Astros 3 0 0 0 0 0 1 4 8 1
Malden Bulldogs 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 2 5 1

The Astros saw this as their first real test against a premiere team in the Yawkey League...and passed.

A 3 run 1st inning with RBI from the 3-4-5 hitters (Reyes, Peguero, and Baldassari) proved to be all the Astros would need in this game!

Brad Presler (1-1) was brilliant on the mound going 6 strong innings, shutting out the Bulldogs until the 6th, when he gave up 2 runs, only one earned.

Velez came in with a man on 1st and no outs. He struck out the first 2 batters he faced and got the 3rd to ground out to 2nd for his 2nd save of the season.

Somerville came out of the gates with 4 in the first on two big hits by Dziuba and Babb. 2 in the second on home runs by Maguire and Dziuba. And then "stole" insurance runs in the 5th and 6th with Scioli and Mendonca.

Guilmette was great on the mound in his first start as an Alibrandi. He went 5 strong, striking out 6 and only allowing 4 hits. Cosmopulos and Wisner looked great in relief pitching the 6th and 7th respectively.

As good of a game played by Somerville (against a really good Malden team) arguably in franchise history.
