Game Summary:
Jared Freni tossed a one-hitter, allowing a first inning RBI single to Mike Sorrentino, then retiring 19 in a row, to lead the Chiefs to a 2-0 series lead at Tufts. Jeff Bercume had a two-run homer and Matt Boleski and Justin Crisafulli had RBI singles. Freni walked two and struck out eight. Conar Mahon went 4+ innings for the Merchants before giving way to veteran Kevin Tidmarsh who worked the final 2.0 innings.

Game Summary:
The Merchants clinch second place and a bye in the final regular season game of the year. Wakefield took advantage of Chiefs wildness and infield error at first base, to score three times in the fifth inning, without a hit. Freni issued one out walks to Andy Hartung and Jon Davison, before Bob Losanno reached on and error by at first. Freni struck out Brooks Townsend for the second out, before a wild pitch allowed Hartung to score the tying run. Scott Searles and Mike Sorerntino both walked to force in another run to give the Merchants a 2-1 lead. Rob Machado replaced Freni and walked Lorenzo Papa, the 5th walk issued in the inning, forcing in Losanno.
Darren Bisso (6-2) kept the Chiefs bats quiet all night allowing 3 hits, 2 to Jeff Bercume & an infield single by Mike Andre. Sorrentino & Townsend had the 2 Wakefield hits. |

Six different Blue Sox drove in runs in the sixth with Dan Capra driving in two with a double.
Kevin Scanlan pitched six shutout innings giving up two hits and striking out eight to improve to 4-0.
Steve Gath paced the 13 hit attack with three hits, two runs and two RBI.

Matt McEvoy singled to drive Jeff Vigurs, double, in the first.
Vigurs reached on an error in the third and scored on Dan Graham's triple. Graham scored on a wild pitch.
Karis retired 11 straight from the second through sixth innings after giving up a hit to David Orlowitz. |

The Merchants rallied for three runs with one out and nobody on in the seventh. Steve Langone drew a 3-2 walk and Lorenzo Papa singled. Veteran Andy Hartung then greeted reliever Mike DiCato with a long triple to left giving the Merchants a 2-1 lead. Dale Crispin drove home Hartung with a single to account for the 3-1 final.
Kevin Flight (1-0) was outstanding for Wakefield, allowing three hits and an unearned run, while striking out four. |

Dan Capra's bases clearing triple sparked a four-run fourth and lead Lexington to a 6-3 win over Wakefield.
Lexington improved to 13-3 and snapped a five game win streak by Wakefield now 10-4 and six points behind Lexington.
Kevin Scanlan (3-0) pitched 5.2 innings for the win
Andy Hartung drove in all three Wakefield runs with a sacrifice fly and a single.
Darren Bisso, 3-1, suffered his first loss of the season, going the distance. |

John Davison hit a go-ahead homerun in the top of the 8th to give Wakefield the win. Charlie DeFrancesco was the tough luck loser going all 8 innings for the Reds while James Ramsey pitched 7 strong innings for the Merchants to pick up the win. Conor Mahon got out of a jam in the bottom of the 8th to get the save. Ryan Nicholas added a homerun for the Reds in the bottom of the 2nd. |
