The A's complete the sweep and advance to the finals.

The bats exploded for the A's, who pounded out 16 hits and 13 runs. LoPresti worked out of jams early, stranding 8 runners in the first 3 innings. In the 4th, the A's started bringing the runners home and never looked back.

Alan Donaruma pitched a great game for the A's, going the distance, scattering 7 hits and allowing only 1 ER. He also was on base 4 times.

Jay Lamoureux went 4-for-4, including his second HR in as many games.

Nick Tapper went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.

Congrats to the White Sox for a great season.

The A's take a nailbiter to go up 2-0 in the best of five series.

This one was scoreless going into the bottom of the 3rd, when late arrival Jay Lamoureux smoked a 3-2 pitch deep down the RF line for a HR. The White Sox would come right back in the top of the 4th on a Felix Villalobos RBI single. In the bottom of the 5th, Jay Lam was back up with men on 1st and 2nd when he hit a shot to left that snuck through the LF, scoring both runners. In the top of the 7th, Kyle Breidenstine relieved McGowan after an error put a man on first, and ended up walking in a run on borderline pitches. He would then get Naumo to fly to left to end the game with the tying run on 3rd to secure his 2nd save in as many games.

The A's played tremendous defense, including turning two double plays and an amazing throw by Mike Sheehan to throw a runner out at 3rd from RF.

Tomaro pitched well in the loss, allowing only 4H in the CG effort.

The A's take game 1.

The A's got on the board in the 1st and scored two in the 3rd to make it 3-0. The Sox rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 6th to cut it to 3-2, but the A's came right back to score two in the top of the 7th on a 2-RBI triple by Patrick Vetter.

Jason Kurtz notched his second W of the playoffs, battling through six innings and allowing only two earned runs while getting out of trouble many times. Vetter went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI.

For the White Sox, Naumo notched two hits.

The Ben's Dream White Sox advance to the Atlantic division championship series with an 8-6 win in game 3 against the Cutters.

The Sox jumped out to a 6-1 lead, taking advantage of some defensive miscues by the Cutters and grinding out some long, tough at-bats. Sox starter Anthony Tomaro was solid before tiring in the 6th and losing command.

With the bases loaded and two out in the 6th, Matt LoPresti entered the game for the Sox. Steve Corda singled to left scoring two and the game was all tied up.

With 1 out in the bottom of the sixth, Nate Butcher, Felix Villalobos, and Ivan Clemente all singled consecutively. Mike Lembo then walked in the go ahead run. The Cutters went to the pen and brought in Jason Wisner. Mike Pollak drove a sac-fly to center giving the Sox a 2-run lead.

LoPresti retired the side in order in the 7th securing the series for the Sox. Thanks to the Cutters for a great hard fought series.

Like game 1, the Cutters scored a bunch in the first (5 runs). That's all the Cutters would need as Ken Kilduff pitched a complete game for the victory. Swaz stays hot at the plate going

In a wild and exciting game, the White Sox came back from two 4-run deficits to win game 1 of the series 9-8 in 8 innings.

The Cutters scored 4 in the 1st. Crossman smashed a 3-run triple and scored on a sac-fly. The Sox scored 1 in the 3rd before the game was suspended due to rain in the top of the 6th.

When the game resumed on Sunday, Deware faced off against the Cutters' Wisner. Naumowicz homered in the 6th to bring the score to 4-2. Rudy led off the 7th for the Sox with a double. Lembo followed with a single. With 2-on and 2-out, Rob Linn hit an RBI single to tie the game.

Coffee hit a 3-run homer and Coveney hit a solo shot to put the Cutters up 8-4 going into the bottom of the 8th. Naumowicz led off for the Sox with a double. With 2-outs and 1-on the White Sox staged an amazing comeback. The next 6 batters reached base and with the bases loaded and 2-out, Naumowicz sent a 3-2 pitch into left for the walk-off.

Anthony Tomaro improved to 5-0 with another dominating performance surrendering only 1 run over 6 innings. John Byrne tore the cover off the ball all night for the Sox going 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

Rob Linn was 2-3 with 2 RBI and a BB. ROY candidate Jon Naumowicz crushed his 4th triple of the year plating 2, and scored his league leading 22nd run of the year. Ivan Clemente was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Dana Levensaler had a big pinch-hit RBI single to help put the game out of reach.

For the A's, Kyle Breidenstine was 2-3 with an RBI.

The White Sox clinch the first seed in the Atlantic Division with the victory.

In a pitcher's duel between two teams battling to make the playoffs in the tight Atlantic Conference, the Cutter's came out on top in a must win game after a fielder's choice by Frank "Visor" Kowalski plated the winning run.

Starting pitcher's Matt Richard [3H, 4Ks] and Andrew Hubbard [6H, 11Ks] were dominant in a rematch of last year's Atlantic Conference Finals. Both battled out of jams when they had to with Hubbard notching several huge strikeouts to strand RISP and Matt Richard retiring 12 in a row at one point.

It wasn't until the bottom of the 7th inning when a lead-off single by Timothy Vogel led to the only run of the game after a sacrifice by Johnny Kostas [who played stellar defense at SS] and a well placed dribbler up the middle by Anthony "Mr Baseball" Bucciarelli set the stage

Richard and Hubbard lock up in a pitchers duel...Frankie K sends the Cutters home victorious.

The O's end their season with a 'W' as Bryan Healey pitched a complete game three-hitter to outpace Sox starter Matt LoPresti, who also threw a complete game.

Rob Linn gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead with an RBI single, but the Orioles answered back immediately; their first 6 hitters reached base in the 1st, jumping ahead to to a 4-1 lead that would not be relinquished. The inning was punctuated by consecutive doubles by Julio Gonzalez and Chris Buckley, who combined to drive in 5 runs in the game.

Ari Rosa chipped in for the O's by reaching base twice and scoring two runs, while Ivan Clemente (1-2, BB, SB, R) paced the White Sox.

Healey with a CG 3-hitter; Gonzalez and Buckley power the O's offense.

The Orioles took a 7-4 lead with a 5-run 4th inning. The White Sox answered back with 4 in the bottom half of the 4th to take an 8-7 lead which held up.

Matt LoPresti was effective in relief for the Sox throwing 3 and 1/3 innings to earn his 4th win of the season.

For the Orioles, Ryan Bere had 2 doubles and 2 rbi. Ari Rosa reached base 3 times scoring twice. Chris Buckley was 2-4 with 4 rbi. Julio Gonzalez was very effective in relief throwing 2 scoreless innings.

For the Sox, Nate Butcher was 2-3 with an rbi double and a walk. Jon Naumowicz had 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. TJ Gardner had a lead-off double and scored two runs. Mike Pollak had an rbi double, reached base 3 times and scored twice and Rob Linn had a 2 hit day.

Matt LoPresti was impressive holding the Rangers to 2 runs over 5 innings to earn the win. Anthony Tomaro was solid in relief working 2 scoreless innings.

Trailing 1-0 the White Sox offense awoke in the 4th. Dana Levensaler had a huge 2-out 2-run single to give the Sox the lead. The Rangers answered back with 1 in the 5th on a Chris Caprio sac-fly. With two out in the bottom of the 5th, Tomaro tripled. Jon Naumowicz then opened the game up with a two-run homer over the left field wall.

For the Sox, Mike Pollak, Tomaro, and Mike Lembo each had 2 hits. Naumowicz walked 3 times in addition to his homerun. Nate Butcher had a key sac-fly and a single.

Just as was the case with the prior game between these two Atlantic division foes, this game was largely a pitchers duel between the M's Wade Briggs and the White Sox' Anthony Tomaro. The game went into the bottom of the 7th with the M's leading 2-1. With a runner on second and 1 out, a botched double play allowed the tying run to score. However, the M's were able to get the go ahead run to score in the top of the 8th thanks to an RBI single by Chris Corde. Briggs was able to close out the Sox in the bottom half of the inning to preserve the complete game victory.

For the M's, senior circuit-er Tarez McNeil has 2 hits and an RBI, and Frank Rich also had two hits. For the Sox, Anthony Tomaro and Mike Lembo each had a pair of hits.

Briggs went the distance for the CG win, while Corde knocked in the GWRBI; Tomaro pitched well and collected 2 hits

The White Sox bats emerged from a long hibernation to smack 10 hits and score 7 runs en route to a 7-4 victory against the reigning champs, the Cutters.

Anthony Tomaro pitched 5 gritty innings to earn the win. Tomaro tired in the top of the 6th walking Mike Moloney to start the inning. Matt LoPresti came on in his first relief performance of the year, pitching 2 scoreless innings to earn the save.

For the Sox, Tomaro had 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Pollak reached base 4 times scoring 2, Linn was 2-3 with an RBI and 2 SB, Byrne had a triple and 2 RBI, Clemente had a 2-run single and 4 SB, Naumowicz drove in 2, and Lembo added 2 hits to pace the offense.

Jason Wisner was the big hitting star for the Cutters going 3-3 with a double and 2 rbi. Mike Melony reached base in all 3 at-bats, had a SB and a run-scored.

Starter Matt Coyne, reliever Jonathan Rheault and catcher Matt Meuse combined to no hit the Atlantic White Sox 11-2 for the first MABL no hitter of 2008.

The Senator offense was powered by Matt Orszulak (2H,1 2B,1R,1BB,2RBI), Nate Laliberte (2H,2RBI, 1BB,1R), Dave Timmons (2H,2R,2RBI) and Matt Mothander (2H,2RBI,SB).

Starter Matt Coyne pitched the first five and in a show of sportsmanship, allowed Jonathan Rheault to close out the game, securing his second save of the season.
