The Reds took game 1 against the Tigers in the best of 3 series. Pina pitched all seven innings to pick up the win for the Reds. The Reds capped off a seven run inning in the fifth with a two out hit by Mike Knell. Ryan Melia of the Reds also reached base all five PA (2H & 3BB). The Tigers played a great game especially Jonathan Pollard who added two solo homers in the 6th & 7th innings.
