Tigers take Game 1 on an awesome pitching performance from Chad Griffiths, as he was thrust into action at the last minute yet allowed just 3 hits over 6 innings, throwing only 65 pitches for the win. The Astros got on the board first as Clarahan led off with a double and scored on a deep fly ball by Ballas that was chased down by Feliciano. Ricupero scored on a couple of errors in the 3rd, but that would be it for the Astros as CG and Copson combined to shut 'em down the rest of the way. Meanwhile the Tigers O stayed hot as they scored 3 in the first on 2 BB and 2 H, including a 2B by Morgan (2-3, 3RBI). They scored twice more before tacking 4 on the board in the 6th on 4H and a BB, including a Murphy shot to CF that fell but was called a catch, confusing everyone, then Morgan roped one to RF that turned into a marathon - "Do you want to score?"
