Astros 5, Indians 3
Eric Harvey came back on 2 days rest and got stronger as the game went on. His performance was overshadowed by the Astros bats who dug out of an early 3-0 hole and rallied to win it 5-3, handing Daryl Pina (also 2-days rest) his only loss of the season.
Indians lead with 2 in the 2nd (Jason Deveau BB, Jeff James oppo double), and 1 more in the 3rd on singles by Josh Hale and Dan Byrne.
Tony Ricupero started the stros scoring knocking in Jon Mayes (single) with a double. Shu Sasaki hit a solo bomb in the 4th to make it 3-2 and Steve Ballas tied it by singling, stealing, moving to 3rd on a ground out and scoring on an error. Then in the 7th (extra innings looming) with 2 outs and a man on, Donny Vachon lined a shot over the fence in right.
Stu Wallace started for the Tribe and worked out of jams through 3 scoreless innings before giving way to DP.
Congrats to Chief Bondo and this classy Tribe on a great season. |
