The Tigers stayed alive thanks to a gem from Nate Pane and some timely hitting from the heart of the order. Pane took a perfect game into the 4th, and ended up losing the shutout on an unearned run in the 7th, finishing with 3K, 0BB, and just 4 hits on 76 pitches (57 strikes). Pane also did a number with the bat, sac bunting the first run to third before Murphy's sac fly, and scoring the winning run in the 5th on Stevens' clutch 2-strike hit to right. Belcastro picked up the other RBI on another nice piece of hitting, fighting off a James fastball in to RF. Matt Giblin also had an excellent game with 2 singles, 1R, and 6 assists at SS. Jeff James pitched well, striking out 5, but took the tough loss. The Tigers victory forces game 3, sure to be another exciting match up...
