Chris Stone was dominant on the mound for the Sox as he threw a 4-hit shutout over the Marlins. Stone only allowed 2 men to reach scoring position on the day, and walked none while K'ing 6.

The Sox defense was nearly as good as Stone as they went errorless, and were highlighted by a diving TJ Unger catch and some nifty plays by Bissonette at SS.

Doherty matched Stone early as he faced the minimum through 3 innings. The Sox then broke through in the 4th as Felix Villalobos walked (only walk of the game), stole second, and scored on a clutch 2-out RBI by Will Bissonette. In the 4th, a leadoff double by Dave Martin and a bunt single by TJ Unger combined with 2 Marlin errors to result in 2 more Sox runs. Ivan Clemente then led off the 6th with a double and later scored on a Martin groundout to cap the scoring.

For the Marlins, Garland, Desanto, Skypeck and Becker each had singles.

Stone Blanks Marlins as Martin goes 2 for 3 with a Double
