The White Sox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the MABL Finals behind strong pitching by Dave Martin, timely hitting and patience at the plate.

The Sox jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning when the first 4 batters reached safely. From there, there was no turning back. MVP Jason Hoye paced the offense, going 3 for 4 with a double and 5 RBI. Will Bissonnette also had a pair of hits with a double and 2 RBI. Overall however, 6 of the 10 Sox runs that scored either reached via walk or HBP.

Dave Martin pitched 5 strong for the win. Matt LoPresti then closed out the final two scoreless frames.

For the Reds, the lone run scored in the 5th inning when Joe Dunne singled and later scored on a Derek Garabedian single. Brett Nowlin pitched the first 3 innings and took the tough loss, while Jason Ellingson pitched the rest of the way.
