Both teams batted around in the first inning, and as base umpire Joe Peters said, whoever would have thought that with Scott Hampe (Grossman) and Mike Stefaniak (JM Force) on the mound that 22 men would bat and 9 runs would score in a marathon inning right out of the box. Grossman answered with five hits to erase the JMF advantage. But the Force would strike back [sorry] and tie the game on Dan King's 2-out, 2-run single in the third. Meanwhile, Stefaniak pitched himself back into a ballgame; and finally in the 7th Tim Mitropoulos singled, moved up on Alec Finigan's sacrifice bunt and scored the game-winner on Billy Collins double.
