With Buika and Bell needing more rest the Jays turned to right fielder Dana Levensaler for game 1, his first career start as a Jay. Early on the Spinners threaten. 1st & 2nd, 1 out, a liner to center where Ed Pickett was playing due to Confoey's suspension. Pick charges in to make the catch & doubles the runner off second to end the rally. The Spinners did break the ice first scoring on a wild pitch. The Jays answer with a 3 spot. Taking advantage of 4 hit batters & getting enough hits when they needed them to go up 6-1. Rob Linn led the offense going 2-3, 3 RBI that included a key 2 run single down the 3B line. With the exception or 1 or 2 balls, the Jays play solid D behind Levensaler including a few himself on the mound. He would go the distance striking out 3 & walking just 1. Jays lead the series 1-0.
