Cutters win the BMBL Title over the Tigers, 3 games to 2, winning 7-5 in the deciding game. Cutters scored 3 runs in the first on a bases clearing double by one of the many Playoff MVPs for the Cutters Ned Coffee. In the top of the 5th w/ 2 outs and another MVP for the Cutters Crossman on 2nd, Coffee stepped up big and hit a 2r HR off Rich W to right centerfield. This proved to be the game winning hit as Matt Richard was cruising thru 4 but Mike Morgan started the 5th inning rally hitting a HR to right to make it 7-1. The Tigers pushed across 4 more runs in the bottom of the 5th to make it 7-5. Not much action after the 5th until the bottom of the 7th w/ 2 outs and a man on first for the Tigers, John Silk on a 2-2 pitch hit a double down the LF line off of Wis. Tying run on 2nd and Wis comes up huge and strikes out Stevens for the first MABL Championship for the Boston Cutters! Matt Richard wins his 4th game in the playoffs.

Coff 5rbis on the night, Richard picks up 4th win in playoffs and Swaz picks up playoff MVP w/ Cross, Richards and Coff

Tigers win a thrilling Game 2 as Big Kev hits a walk-off single to score Field who pinch-ran for Murphy after he got things going with a smoking line drive single, and Morgan had moved him over with a single of his own.

The Tigers had scored first as JP reached on a HBP, stole second and scored on a Murphy single to center. The Cutters got 3 in the 2nd on a BB, 2H and 3 errors. The Tigers tied it in the 4th as Silky led off with a 2B, and Pane knocked in 2 with a clutch hit after a couple errors allowed Long and Gib to reach. Things stayed even until the 7th with Dicicco pitching well for the Cutters and Griffiths battling through 5 before Copson came in and shut down a potent Cutter offense with precision pitching.

After getting the 1st out of the 7th, Wisner relieved Dicicco and was promptly greeted with 3 straight singles for the theatrical win. The Tigers look to close out the championship up 2-1.

Matt Richards was strong on the hill for the Cutters in picking up his 3rd playoff victory. Tigers threatened in the 2nd with loaded the bases for Giblin who hit a ball that looked to be thru the infield but Booch ranged to his left and made a diving stop and threw out Giblin at 1st to end the inning. In the bot of inning Cutters pushed across 5 runs and then 9 in the bottom of the third. More details to come and exact numbers

Tigers 1 4 0 0 0 0 x 5 4 2

Tigers take Game 1 of the Championship in a tight one. The Cutters jumped ahead in the first as Booch led off with a Booch-type hit, Swaz played the hit & run perfectly lining one over second, followed by Moloney chopping one to 3rd and beating the throw scoring Boochy. The Tigers evened it up in the bottom half as Sway laid down a perfect bunt hit, stole second, and Pane drove him in on a 2-strike hit up the middle.

The Tigers took the lead for good in the 2nd as they batted around on 2BB, 2HH, and a HBP. Pane and JP both drove in one, while Murphy had the GWRBI with a full-count single up the middle with the bases jacked scoring 2.

Wlodarczyk battled through his complete game effort, K'ing 6 while allowing 7 hits. He hung in strong as the Cutters climbed back into the game, and got the win thanks to a great double play by Gib and JP to end the game.

Tigers 1 2 0 2 0 0 x 5 5 2

Tigers win the Bay State title and advance to the Franchise's first MABL Championship thanks to the veteran pitching of Houlding and the patient and skilled hitting of the Offense.

JP scored the first run as he walked, stole second, and scored on a Morgan single to center. The Astros scored 1 in the 2nd on a Dowling 3B and 'Cupe 1B, but the Tigers answered on a Silk 1B, and 3 BB. The Tigers scored 2 more in the 4th that would prove to be necessary insurance as 'Speedy' Dan Field (lookin' good dimer!) celebrated the New Year with a lead off 2B followed by a couple of errors and RBI ground outs.

Houlding limited the 'Stros to 4 hits, but the Astros would battle back in the 6th and 7th as Byrne homered to left, Walsh scored on a Vernon 3B then scored on a groundout. However Wlodarczyk was able to close the door on a comeback with a 1-out save to secure the Divison Title. Congrats to Tyler and the Stros on a great series and season

Astros 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 2

Tigers take Game 2 as Wlodarczyk and Copson combine to 1-hit the Astros. The Tigers capitalized in the 2nd on some rare wildness from Harvey (4 BB in the inning) and a couple of clutch hits from Sway and Pane. Gib had the GWRBI on a BB scoring Morgan who had singled to get things started.

The Astros meanwhile were unable to get a man past 2nd as RW dominated through 6 with 3 1-2-3 innings and striking out the side in the 5th.

Scotty Stevens knocked Harvey from the game in the 6th with a 4,000 ft. HR to right that may still be going as it was hit so far it got stuck in a passing 747. The Tigers also played error-free ball with some very nice plays and look to close out the series in Game 3.

Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E
Astros 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 2 3 5
Tigers 3 1 0 1 0 4 x 9 8 4

Tigers take Game 1 on an awesome pitching performance from Chad Griffiths, as he was thrust into action at the last minute yet allowed just 3 hits over 6 innings, throwing only 65 pitches for the win.

The Astros got on the board first as Clarahan led off with a double and scored on a deep fly ball by Ballas that was chased down by Feliciano. Ricupero scored on a couple of errors in the 3rd, but that would be it for the Astros as CG and Copson combined to shut 'em down the rest of the way.

Meanwhile the Tigers O stayed hot as they scored 3 in the first on 2 BB and 2 H, including a 2B by Morgan (2-3, 3RBI). They scored twice more before tacking 4 on the board in the 6th on 4H and a BB, including a Murphy shot to CF that fell but was called a catch, confusing everyone, then Morgan roped one to RF that turned into a marathon - "Do you want to score?" "Not really..."

That would be all for the scoring and the game.

Senators 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1 5 6
Tigers 2 0 2 2 0 4 x 10 8 2

The Tigers advance to the division series behind the arms of Griffiths, Wlodarczyk and Copson.

The Tigers would get all the runs they needed in the 1st. Taking advantage of a Pane BB and JP HBP, Morgan laced a ball up the middle scoring Pane for the first run. Morgan would then use his "wheels" to record his 1st SB of the season, as JP scored what would be the GW run on the catcher's overthrow.

Griffiths held the Senators to one run through 3 innings, until they threatened in the 4th on a BB and 2B with no outs. On just 2 days rest, Wlodarczyk got the call and pitched valiantly, getting the Tigers out of the jam, allowing just one hit in 3 innings of work, earning his 2nd W in the series. Insurance runs would come in the 3rd, 4th and 6th for Copson to close it out in the 7th.

The Tigers move on to play the Stros in the Bay State division series. Congrats to the Senators on a great season.

The Tigers rode to victory in Game 1 of the series on the arms of Wlodarczyk and Copson and Pollard's huge...bat.

Sway did his thing in the first, walking and stealing second. Field followed with a lined single bringing Jippa to the plate, who proceeded to launch a 2-0 fastball into the softball field. He barely had enough gas in the tank, but he managed to cruise home for the official dinger.

The bottom of the third saw more action from Field and Pollard as they worked their counts and after Field walked, Pollard took another 2-0 fastball into deep right, this time settling for a mere triple and his 4th RBI of the night. Murph followed with a single to drive in JP and finish the scoring before Gib stole home in the 6th.

Rich pitched with a lead, and cruised through 5, K'ing the side in the 4th and allowing just 2 hits. Copson finished the shutout with 2 pristine innings, ending the game on a strike 'em out, throw 'em out.

The Tigers win this one in a warm-up for the first round of the playoffs. There was no score through 3, thanks to some incredible defense by Silky as he made a superman grab of a shot by Coyne, then nailed Ackerson at home as he tried to score on a Laliberte single.

Things stayed even until the 4th when the Senators filled the sacks, and Bourbeau pushed the game's first run across with a hard-fought BB. Griff was able to escape without any more damage, bringing the Tigers to the plate.

A string of walks and a Gib rope to center scored KB and 2 more on the error on the throw to the infield. This would give the Tigers all the runs they needed, and Long finished the scoring with a groundout to plate Gib.

3 other Tiger pitchers combined to finish the game, including another scoreless inning from Copson. The game capped an awesome regular season for the Tigers, and another well-played game by the Senators. Playoff!?, PLAY-OFFS!?!

Tigers clinch the top spot in the Bay State Division with a resounding victory over the Mariners.

The Tigers jumped out early with 3 runs in the first and never looked back as 3 Tigers had multi-hit games including a 2-hit effort from Long in the leadoff spot and Gibby in the 9-hole, as well as another solid performance from Pollard providing the first and GW RBI.

Murphy had a shot at an "inside-the-park" HR with a blast to right, but was running on fumes as he was cut down at home on a 8-4-3-2 putout.

Wlodarczyk continued his Cy-worthy season going right after the Mariners, allowing just one runner to reach 3rd and keeping everyone involved.

Big Ups to the Mariners on their season, and best of luck next year.

Griffiths remained effective on the mound, holding the Senators scoreless through 3 2/3 innings until a set of walks and error contributed to a 3-run 4th. Copson was able to come in and shut the door the rest of the way with help from red hot Morgan who roped a 3B over the LF's head providing the GW RBI's in the 6th.

The Senators showed some fight in the final inning, nearly batting around the order, but a fly ball to LF would end the game, leaving the tying run stranded.

Cutters jumped out to the early lead w/ 3 runs in the 4th on a 2 run double by Chris "swizzle" Santosuosso (3-4 dbl, 3R HR and 5rbis on the day). Swaz would eventually score on a rbi single by Cov. For the Cutters Ken Kilduff cruised through the first 4 innings until the 5th when the Tigers clawed (get it clawed...) their way back highlighted by a 3r triple by Stevens. The Cutters kept their cool like Sean Magee on a hot florida summers day in his jorts and scored 2 runs in the 6th w/ rbi's from Moloney and Cov to take the lead for good. For the Tigers Mike "my stance looks like Pujols" Morgan had 2 hits on the day.

Highlight of the day comes from Nate Dizzle punching a starfish after the game during a game of cornhole. Duff and Booch did rule the boards though w/ a record of 4-1....chica...chica...I am McLovin

Swaz keeps swinging the hot stick, Cov goes 3-4 w/ 3rbis and Morgan has a multi hit game

The Tigers get back on track with their best win of the year. The Mariners jumped out to a quick lead on a 3-run bomb by VanReenan, but that would be the last hit of the game for the Mariners...they did get hit a couple of times though (4 HBP) "Don't Rub IT!"...meanwhile the Tigers struggled with Walters' arsenal as he allowed just 2 hits through 5 IP, though one of which was a shot to left from Sway-bo.

As Houlding continued his effective wildness, the Tiger O was able to chip away with some good at-bats and a few clutch hits, including Star of the Game Feliciano's leadoff single and 2-RBI singles from Griff and Field.

When the smoke had cleared, the Tigers had taken a 10-3 lead going into the top of the 7th. Despite allowing the first 2 batters to reach, Houlding was able to finish the game with another K and secure the Tiger VICTORYYY!!!

Tigers win another Baystate contest behind some timely hitting and some superb defense. Houlding was able to bounce back from his first loss of the season to get the win, going 5 before giving way to Copson to finish the game.

The Tigers got things going early as Sway turned a leadoff walk into a triple, and Murphy was able to knock in the first run on a bases-loaded groundout to third. Morgan followed with a sac fly on an 0-2 knuckler from Byrne for the game-winning run and RBI.

Though it turned out to not be needed, the Tigers exploded in the 3rd for 7 more on 5 hits and a couple free bases. Murphy and Silk finished the night with 2 hits each, while JWest walked twice and Dumas "stroked it right" for his first hit of the season.

The game was highlighted by 3 DP's and a couple other clutch defensive stops. Byrne did his best on the mound for the 'Stros while Sheerin and Vachon added 2 hits from the 9-hole.

Athletics 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 2
Tigers 0 0 1 2 5 0 x 8 11 1

The Tigers kept it rollin' despite missing some key starters, as Wlodarczyk was dominant once again, picking up his second shutout of the season.

The Tigers offense was bolstered by some huge contributions from some "irregulars" as Chad Griffiths roped a double and a triple to lead the team with 4 RBI's, while Jarod Wilson added a couple of line drive singles to help keep the rallies going in the 4th and 5th innings.

Mike Morgan's bat is about to combust as he added another multi-hit game to boost his AVG. up over .400. Only 2 starters didn't muster a hit for the Tigers in this one, though the teams were able to finish this game in double-time to get out of the Clifford area before Dumas was forced to 'bring the heat'.

McGowan pitched valiantly once again, allowing only 3 ER, but the Tiger offense was just too much.

Astros 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 3

The Tigers Woo-Town contingent put on a show at Tivnan as CG pitched a gem, carrying a no-hitter into the 6th before giving up an inf. single, putting the only damper on an otherwise spectacular game for the Tigers.

3 batters in, the Tigers scored the winning run on a Sway BB, WP, Pane moved him to 3rd, then JP knocked him in with a deep fly to left-center. The Tigers added 2 more in the 1st thanks to a bout of wildness (5 straight BBs), and 7 more in the 3rd on 6 hits and a HBP. Silky had a smooth game in front of his HS girls cheering section, while just about everyone else had a hit or reached base during the game.

CG was the story of the night though, as the one real challenge came in the 4th thanks to 3 BBs, but he was able to bail himself out with a couple of key Ks. In the 7th Riordan did his thing, putting the 1st two on, but cleaned up nicely with back to back K's before JWest said "nah, I'm good" to finish things off.

Game 2 of the doubleheader brought a fierce pitching duel between 2 lefty's James and Griffiths. After allowing a first inning run, Griffiths settled down and allowed nobody past second the rest of the way. James was just as filthy allowing just 2 hits through the first 5.

The Tigers pulled the victory from James hands in the 6th when Gib led off with a single to left, Field was inserted as an extra hitter and promptly moved Gib over to second on a sac bunt. Sway strode to the plate and blasted a piss-rocket over the left fielder's head knocking in Gib with a 3 bagger. Then, with a strike on him, Pane laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to score Sway and give the Tigers the lead.

CG was able to complete the game and even recorded the last assist on a comebacker, splitting the DH and keeping the Tigers tied for first in the Baystate.

The Tribe took the first half of the big doubleheader, 6-4. Stu Wallace picked up the win with 4+ innings of solid work, while Darly Pina notched another save in relief. Mark Bowles and Josh Hale knocked in some runs and scored some others to pace the Indians. The Tigers did a good job getting men on base but Wallace and Pina did some of their best work in the clutch.

Tigers 2 1 1 3 1 0 8 13 3

The White Sox and Tigers battled it out at the OK Corral in Chelsea as the skies cleared but the thunder still rolled. The Tigers jumped on top in the 1st with 3 straight hits followed by a Murph SF, then a single by the white hot Mike Morgan. The White Sox took the lead in the 2nd on 4 singles including a fake bunt slash by Smith, but the Tigers evened it up in the bottom half on a Gib BB and a Pane 1b to drive him in. From there the Tigers didn't look back as Wlodarczyk didn't allow a hit the rest of the night.

Morgan knocked in the game winner in the 3rd, reaching base for the 8th straight time, and JP put it away with a missile to right for his 3rd Monster Mash of the year.

This game was certainly all it was cracked up to be as the two teams fought to the end, but the Tigers were able to come out on top and tie the Indians for the Division lead going into the big weekend DH.

The Grays proved formidable once again as Cosentino held the bats relatively quiet and was able to work out of a couple of jams, but some costly errors and timely hitting led the Tigers to victory once again as they tacked on 3 extra runs in the 6th after a lead-off single by Long, a couple of errors, Pane was HBP to knock in a run, JP followed with a SF to knock in Giblin, and Sway ran around the bases and scored on a WP.

The Tigers batted around in each of the two innings, capitalizing on several walks and errors in each. A battle of Bay State rivals lived up to the standings as the Tribe eventually outlasted the Tigers. Daryl Pina and Rich W. were both impressive through the first six as they wiggled out of tough situations time and again.

With the score tied 3-3, the Indians broke out in the top of the 7th with 7 runs to take the lead for good. Daryl Pina, batting due to late substitutions, knocked in the go ahead run with a single through a drawn in infield.

A total team effort by the Tribe to pick up the win, but Jeff James deserves acknowledgement for great defense, offense and base running. Kudos to all the Tigers for a very tight, competitive game.

The Tigers keep the perfect season going with a strong victory over the A's. Feliciano (3-4,HR,3B,3R,4RBI), Pollard (1-4,HR,R,4RBI), and Giblin (2-3,2R,2RBI,SB) led the way offensively with Houlding (5IP,3H,1ER,6K) pitching well enough to win before Copson closed out the last two innings for the save.

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead and kept tacking on runs with some timely hitting including Gib's 2-RBI single in the 2nd and JP and Sway's 3-R HR's in the 3rd and 4th respectively.

Sampson launched a HR to left to put the A's on the board to start the 5th while Vetter and Lamoureux each had 2H. McGowan pitched valiantly thru 6 for the A's, but once again the Tiger bats were too strong and the Tiggers pulled away.

In his first start of the season, the Tigers take Game 2 of the double header behind the arm of Nate Pane (5 2/3 IP, 3H, 2ER, 10K).

The Grays jumped out to an early lead in the 1st, scoring 2 runs on a single, double and 2 SB. The Tigers however would quickly score 2 of their own in the 2nd, with some help from the bottom of the order. Long (2-2, 3B, BB) began the inning with a single and advanced to 2nd on a SB. Field (1-2, 2B, RBI) then scorched a 2B down the left field line scoring Long. Giblin (2-3, RBI) would follow suit with a single of his own, scoring Field to tie the game at 2-2.

The Tigers would tack on 3 more in the 3rd and 6th innings, proving to be enough for Wlodarczyk who closed out the last 1 1/3 innings to record the save.

Kudos to Pat Long who went 4-5, 3B, 2RBI, 2SB, BB in the DH versus his former team. Hats off to the Grays for a well fought series.

Birthday boy Chad Griffiths (CG, 3H, 1R, BB, 6K) records his first win of the season in Game 1 of the double header.

The game stayed tight at 1-1 until the Tigers' bats finally came alive, batting around the order in the 6th with key hits coming off the bats of Beliveau (1-3, 2RBI), Silk (2-3, 2RBI), and Long (2-3, 2RBI). The Tigers scored five runs in the inning which proved to be enough insurance for Griffiths to record the complete game victory.

Consentino also went the distance and pitched well in defeat for the Grays.

Tigers win another on the arm of Wlodarczyk and the bat of Pollard. Feliciano led off with a single, stole 2nd on a pickoff attempt and was driven in by Pane on a sharp single to left after a lengthy AB. JP then launched a ballistic missile into the Softball game in right for his first HR of the season.

The Tigers tacked on a few more runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 7th (another JP bomb for a lead-off 3B followed by a Murphy 2B ripped down the line), but that was more than Wlodarczyk needed as he cruised through 6 for his 2nd win of the season. Eric "Mr. Interesting" Riordan came in to finish by loading the bases before retiring the side to complete the shutout.

Chris Allen pitched well, but the Tiger bats were too much for him.

The Tigers look to carry their streak into Cooperstown for a weekend of baseball and debauchery...GRRRR Baby, YEAH!

Ben's Dream White Sox 0 1 0 0 0 2 0 3 6 1

The Tigers claw out a victory against the White Sox at Chelsea. Silk (4-4,2B,3RBI,2R,SB) and Feliciano (2-4,HR,2RBI,4R,BB,SB) lead the way with the big sticks, while Houlding (6IP, 1ER, 6H, 5BB, 8K) was up and down through 6 before giving way to Copson to shut the door.

The Tigers started early with a run in the first, but broke the game open in the 2nd with 5 runs on 4 hits, including an arm-chair double by Murphy (1-4,4RBI,R,BB) that cleared the bases.

Clemente (2-4) and Smith (2-3,RBI,R) led the way for the White Sox, but the Tigers were too much on a hot day...

Tigers 2 0 0 1 1 0 2 6 8 0
Rangers 3 0 0 0 1 0 1 5 5 1

Tigers manage a victory thanks to some clutch hitting from Pane and JP in the top of the 7th. Pane knocked in the go-ahead run with a bloop to left after a Giblin walk-SB-balk put him on 3rd, then JP followed with a laser-beam to right, plating Wilson with what turned out to be the GW RBI after JW had worked a walk in his pinch-hit AB.

Griffiths battled his way through a shaky start, leaving the game with a chance at a W, but the Rangers were able to scrap together a run on a bloop to right to tie it in the 5th. Copson shut them down after that, and Riordan came in to close it, making it interesting as usual...

JP (4-4, 2 2B, 2R, 2RBI) and Pane (2-4, 3B, R, RBI) were the offensive stars for the Tigers as they stay undefeated in the early season thanks to a total team effort.

Rich Wlodarczyk shuts out the O's, throwing a perfect game through 5.1 innings until consecutive hits by Thomas and Fudeman ended his bid. Wlodarczyk still managed to throw a complete game shutout allowing just 2 hits to go with his 12 K's, six of his innings coming in 1-2-3 fashion.

With two outs in the 1st, The Tigers put two runs on the board early. Pollard drew a walk and Murphy was then hit by a pitch. After a wild pitch advanced both runners, Morgan fisted a blooper to the right side which tipped off the 1B's glove, abling Pollard and Murphy to score. The only other Tiger run was scored in the 4th on an infield hit by Field who was 2-2 on the night. The Tigers also played great D with several web gems coming from Feliciano, Pollard and Pane.

Brennan took the complete game loss for the O's and pitched well in defeat.

Wlodarczyk throws complete game shutout.

Brian Houlding (5K, 3H, 0ER) notched his second opening day victory for the Boston Tigers by a score of 5-1. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd versus the Astros' rookie pitcher, Daniel Sesko. Stevens (1-3) led off the inning with a single and advanced to 2nd on a pass ball. Consecutive hits by Silky (2-3, 1R) and Field (1-3, 2R) brought in Stevens for the 1st run. Due to a couple of fielding miscues, the Tigers put 3 more on the board and didn't look back from there. With the bases loaded and no outs in the 5th, the Astros had a chance to do some damage but were only held to 1 run on a sweet unassisted DP turned by Pollard, the Tiger's second DP of the game. Great game by the Astros, enjoy the bachelor party! See you at the Ho-Win in August!
