The A's and Indians took a 3-3 game into the 9th inning before Nate Maxwell and Charlie Engasser combined to take the W for the Tribe. Maxwell led off the bottom of the 9th with a triple, and with the infield drawn in, Engasser laced a single into right center to send him home. Pina picks up the win in relief, tossing 3 scoreless. McGowan pitched a great game for the A's, but took the tough loss in the end.

Don't worry, message board fans - this wasn't a forfeit. The A's clinched their first playoff berth with the win and the O's loss. Alan Donaruma went the first 5 for the win and added a triple in the 7th. Sam Landsman came in to close it out, striking out the last 4 batters he faced to secure the combined shutout.

The A's and Grays locked up in a back-and-forth battle that would take them into extra innings.

The Grays scored one in the top of the first only to have the A's come back and score three in the bottom of the inning, capped off by a Pedro Gil two-run homer. The Grays would then chip away, scoring one in each of the fourth and fifth to tie it up at three. In the bottom of the fifth, Gil knocked in Donaruma to take the lead, but the Grays tied it back up in the sixth.

With one out in the top of the tenth, after an error and a walk, the A's intentionally walked Mike Mazzarella to load the bases. Paul Branche then smoked a line-drive to third base, which Jamie Aldoupolis snared and turned into a DP.

In the bottom of the inning, Alan Donaruma walked and stole second, and came around to score as the throw got through the infield and past the CF.

For the Grays, Julio Ramos went the distance on the hill.

The Tigers kept it rollin' despite missing some key starters, as Wlodarczyk was dominant once again, picking up his second shutout of the season.

The Tigers offense was bolstered by some huge contributions from some "irregulars" as Chad Griffiths roped a double and a triple to lead the team with 4 RBI's, while Jarod Wilson added a couple of line drive singles to help keep the rallies going in the 4th and 5th innings.

Mike Morgan's bat is about to combust as he added another multi-hit game to boost his AVG. up over .400. Only 2 starters didn't muster a hit for the Tigers in this one, though the teams were able to finish this game in double-time to get out of the Clifford area before Dumas was forced to 'bring the heat'.

McGowan pitched valiantly once again, allowing only 3 ER, but the Tiger offense was just too much.

The A's kept the bats going pulling out another victory to be back at .500. Jeff Sampson went the distance pitching 7 complete. Mazzeo hit a homerun in the top of the 3rd. Saleh had two hits and two rbi's in the win.

In a slug fest the A's pulled out the win in the bottom of the 7th. The O's got things started in the first by plating 3, two of which came off of a Buckley moster double. The A's would come back and score 2 in the bottom half from a huge triple by Vetter.
The O's would score 3 more times in the second and the A's would score 4 to tie it up in the bottom of the second. From there each team would score once more. In the Bottom of the 7th the A's loaded the bases and Steve Mellor walked to push in the winning run.
Aldoupolis and Healey went the distance for there respective teams.

The Mariners got out to an early lead, scoring one in the first and one in the fourth off of former teammate Alan Donaruma (CG, W, 6H, 2ER).

The A's entered the bottom of the fifth being no-hit by Jarlin Gomez, but put together three hits and two walks in the frame to plate three runs and take a one-run lead. The M's got the tying run into scoring position in the bottom of the seventh but Donaruma got Steve Lemoges to fly out to right to end the game.

Tim DeMarco had three hits for the M's.

The A's took the rain-shortened game by plating four in the 3rd inning. Jeff Sampson had a 2-RBI bases loaded single through a drawn in infield to break it open. Kevin McGowan got the abbreviated complete game shutout, giving up two hits and striking out three.

Sox starter Anthony Tomaro tossed a 4-hit shutout, not surrendering a hit until Jamie Aldoupolis let loose with a rope in the 5th. Jamie would finish with 2 hits for the A's, including a double. Meanwhile, Ant chalked up 9 K's on this night and his 3rd straight appearance without allowing a run.

Offensively, the White Sox' Matt Deeb ended his streak of 7 straight plate appearances drawing a walk, and 9 straight reaching safely. Still, 6 of the last 7 games, he has led off the game reaching safely and scored.

The Sox big inning occured in the third when John Byrne singled to lead off. Mike Lembo then doubled him home (his 5th straight safe reach). Brent Campbell reached on error and later scored when Mike Pollak with hit by his 5th pitch of the season. Deeb and Felix Villalobos also walked that inning.

Jamie Aldoupolis took the A's loss, tossing 4 innings of 5-hit ball. Sam Landman tossed the final 3 shutout innings.

The Mariners and Athletics continued their regional prep school tour on Sunday, moving from Belmont Hill earlier in the month to BB&N. It was a pitchers duel when these two Atlantic foes met on July 1. This time the bats were the story, with both sides combining for 19 hits.

The M's Paul Schoeneck pitched well, filling in for Jarlin Gomez who left with an injury. Schoeneck notched his third win of the season, his third in relief. He was aided by Matt Dumont and Tim DeMarco, who had 3 hits apiece, as well as a Corey Aldoupolis 3-run homerun.

For the A's, Pedro Gil (3 hits) and Andrew Billig (2 hits) were on the basepaths all day.

Dumont and Gil had 3-hit day, Aldoupolis cranked 3-run homer.

Kevin McGowan (L, 3-4) and Doug Rexroad (W, 2-1) squared off at Kelly Field on Saturday night in what turned out to be pitcher's dual. Rexroad delivered 6 solid innings to earn the win before giving way to Neil Doherty (S,2). The bats were stifled not only by the pitching performances, but some sparkling defensive play as well. Alan Donaruma made several run-saving plays at short for the A's, while Chad Besegai (pronounced Bes-AH-guy... I think) aided a few Rangers infielders by covering up an errant throw or two. As expected, Paul Bracco made a ridiculous diving catch and patrolled centerfield with great vigor. Andy "The Little Professor" Katz cut short the A's hopes of tying the game in the seventh by smartly cutting down the lead runner at third base. Elias Sports Bureau: Dav Wilfrid smashed the MABL record for miles driven-per-ground out on Saturday. Dav drove to the game twice (once with his gear).

Rexrode, Doherty combine for win. Dav can't find his pants.

Victor Ruiz stymied the A's, hurling a CG win while striking out 13.

The A's took an early lead courtesy of a Santi Mazzeo "Chelsea special" in the 1st inning, clearing the fence in right field and staking the A's to a 2-0 lead. Ruiz would not allow another hit until a single with one out in the 7th inning. With the tying run standing in scoring position, he struck out the final two batters to seal the victory for the O's.

The decisive hit in the game was a double in the fourth by Greg Gallivan, which turned a 2-1 Orioles deficit into a lead which would not be relinquished.
