The Tigers leave the jungle alive after a well-fought game with the Senators. Both teams battled an inconsistent zone, but after the Senators took the lead on a Timmons bases-loaded single in the top of the 5th, the Tigers jumped right back out front with 4 in the bottom half. With 2 outs and a man on 2nd, 2 walks loaded the bases for Nate Pane who delivered on the first pitch with a line drive single to left. After another walk to Murphy, the Big Swede brought the hammer down with a 2 RBI single of his own. After Houlding put 2 on with 1 out in the 6th, Copson came up HUGE, getting the hold thanks to a 1-2-3 DP to end the inning. Despite making things interesting, Riordan was able to finish the game, on a nice play by Giblin, for the save. Matt Coyne pitched a great game for the Senators giving up just the 4 hits, with 6 K's. The Senators were a tough opponent all season, great game guys, and good luck next year!

Jon Pollard's hits (90ft L3, 350ft F8, 360 ft 2B, 375ft HR) travelled more than 1100 feet but it wasn't enough as the Senators hang on to win in dramatic fashion. All star Matt Coyne picked up the win pitching 7 strong scattering 9 hits while making several great defensive plays. The Senators got things going in the 3rd on a lead off single by John Howe (2-3), a perfect sac bunt by Jim O'Donnell, an RBI single by Dave Timmons, back to back doubles by Dan Sweet (3-4, 2R, 2 2B) and Eric Clancy, and an RBI single by Greg Conant. The Dodgers would chip away and tie it in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, with two outs, Dan Sweet would double to left and reach 3rd on an error. Eric Clancy would then put the game away with a clutch strike out...and passed ball allowing Sweet to score. On a side note, Dennis Ingram came within several yards of hitting a HR. At the end of the night he still sits at 0-Summer in HRs.

The Senators squeaked by with a win against a competitive Grays squad behind the pitching of all star Greg Conant. Conant pitched a complete game shutout allowing 6 hits while striking out 5. In the 3rd, the Senators capitalized on a couple Grays' miscues. Dennis Ingram (1-2, 2SB, R) would reach 2nd on an error and steal 3rd. Another error would allow Ingram to score. Jason Ackerson (1-3,2SB,R) would wind up in scoring position and Joe Lombardi(1-3,RBI) would deliver an RBI single. The Grays' pitchers, Steve Maycock and Harley Smith, were effective all game allowing 2 unearned runs on just 3 hits and struck out 11.

John Howe stepped up in a spot start against his old team and delivered a 3 hit gem over 5 innings, allowing just 1 unearned run. Joe Lombardi, Dennis Ingram and Dan Sweet each had multi-hit games while Eric Clancy and Greg Conant chipped in with 2 runs each and 2 majestic triples. Dickie Gillis was on base three times with three walks and was solid behind the plate, throwing out two would be base stealers. For the A's, Josh Misiph collected two of the team's hits.

The Tigers leapt to an early lead as they continued their offensive barrage, and Rich Wlodarczyk made sure things were never close with another dominating performance (CG, 1UER, 7K). The usual suspects led the attack, as Big Earl (3-4, 2R, 3RBI) launched another Cruise Missile double, and Pane (2-4, 2B, R, RBI) and Long (2-4, 3R, RBI) added the other multi-hit performances. Belcastro came back from a long absence to rope a double in his first at-bat, and Mr. Stevens gave his son Jake a double for his birthday (it was almost the game-winning RBI). Dan Field didn't get a hit, but at least he got interviewed on iMass Radio. Greg Conant pitched a complete game for the Senators.

Bryan Healey and Matt Coyne locked up in a pitchers duel at Ryan Field, both going the distance in a fight for a Baystate playoff spot. The Senators entered the sixth with a 3-1 lead but the Orioles chipped away, tying the game in the bottom of the inning on clutch RBI singles by Jordan Krall and Ronnie Maddrey. In the bottom of the 7th, the O's would take the lead and the game in dramatic fashion. With two outs, Healey reached base and later advanced to second on a wild pitch. Pinch hitter Brad Hall then hit a ground ball to the right side that found its way into the outfield, scoring Healey ahead of the throw home.

The Pride of Wilmington Joe Burns pitched 8 innings in a complete game extra inning affair win over the A's, 6-5. Burns battled recording 7 strikeouts and allowing only 6 hits. A's starter Kevin McGowin held the Senator bats at bay until the 6th when Jim O'Donnell (Wilmington's Favorite Son) and Greg Conant led off with back to back hits. Joe Lombardi would walk and then Wilmington's All-Star, Matt Coyne, delivered a key double down the line. Later in the inning John Howe (3-4) would tie it up on a clutch line drive to left. The A's Santi Mazzeo put them up by 1 again with a sac fly. In the bottom of the 7th the Senators would tie it up again on a hit batsman after loading the bases. Burns would shut down the A's in the top of the 8th. In the bottom, with 2 outs, Wilmington's Most Versatile Athlete, Dan Sweet, would bunt for a hit, steal second and Wilmington's Hero, Eric Clancy would plate the winning run on a deep drive to left.

The Astros rebounded to take game two of the double header today with one of their best efforts of the season. The win kept them in the thick of the race for a Bay State playoff spot. The Astros got to Matt Coyne early when James Clarahan sparked the offense with a RBI single in the first. Then Shu Sasaki raked a two run double and the 'stros never looked back. Tony Ricupero and Sean Dowling zoned in and combined for 6 hits, 4 runs and 3RBI. Sasaki added another RBI and Mike Byrne (sac fly) and Ron Viola (single) each plated one. Clarahan made a huge diving catch in right feld in the third and added another in left in the sixth to lead the stros D to an errorless game. Sean Cormac(k) Kennedy earned the victory with four innings of shutout ball. Tyler Walsh started and went the first two and Josh Vernon closed it out in the seventh.

Greg Conant (6 hits, 6Ks, 1BB) carries the Senators to their 3rd straight win with a complete game shutout. In the 3rd, the Senator bats came alive as Jim O'Donnell led off with a single. Dave Timmons matched that and Eric Clancy would sacrifice the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Rookie Jon Cignetti would eventually come to the plate and drive in the deciding run. Greg Conant (2H), Joe Lombardi (2H, 2R, 1SB), and Dave Timmons (2-2, HBP) all had multiple hits for the Senators. For the Astros, James Clarahan continued his great season going 2-2.

Conant, Keffer and Coyne combined on a 4 hit shutout as the Senators win their second straight, beating the Mariners 7-0. Conant pitched the first 3, striking out 2 while allowing 2 hits. Ben Keffer dusted off the cob webs, striking out 2 in the 5th and Coyne finished out the last 3 striking out 4 while only allowing 1 hit. Tied 0-0 going in the 5th, Jason Ackerson led off with a bunt single, stole second and scored on a wild throw to first. The Senators would add another in the 6th on an RBI double by Conant. In 7th, the Sentators pushed 5 across highlighted by a bases loaded double by none other than...Greg Conant. Brian Thorndike took the tough loss for the Mariners, carrying a no hitter into the 5th.

On a 90 degree day the Reds and Senators went at it in a pitchers duel between Sean Magee (Reds) and Matt Mothander (Senators). The Reds scored first in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI groundout by Chris Allen. The Senators tied the game in the 6th when Dave Timmons 2B and Greg Conant drove him home with an RBI 1B. In the bottom of the 7th for the Reds, with one out Sean Magee and Pete John both walked. After a PB and a SB making it 2nd and 3rd Mike Ciano drove in the GW run to give the Reds the 2-1 victory. Magee got the win in a CG 7K effort, and Mothander piched well but took the tough loss also going the distance. Mike Ciano (Reds), Matt Mothander, and Greg Conant (Senators) all had 2 hit games.

What was a good competetive game that had the Reds players going down like flys, ended in an 8-6 win for the Reds none the less. Carlos Mejia, Pete John, and Matt Bloomer of the Reds all left the game due to injury. Chris Allen pitched 4.1 innings to get the win and Jon Butler came in relief pitching 2.2 innings for the Save. Greg Conant took the loss pitching 5 innings for the Senators. The Reds offense was led by Joe Dunne 3-4 2R RBI, Mike Ciano 3-3 R RBI, Steve Corda 2-2 2B R RBI. Carlos Mejia and Pete John also had two hit games. For the Senators Matt Mothander hit an opposite field homer to bring the Sens within 2. Dan Sweet and Eric Clancy had 2 hit performances for the Senators.
