Gregg Smith gets his first Yawkey League win with 2 strong innings against the Astros, striking out 3. The Dodgers welcomed back Keith Masterson for a game, while visiting the states from Ireland. He went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Gerry Ramsey , Bryan Duffy, and Marty Whitmore also had 2 hits in the victory. Mike Sweeney came in and shut the door in the seventh to record a save.

The Hyde Park Bluefish finish their first YBL Regular Season with their 5th straight win, finishing the season 22-9-1. 4 Bluefish pitchers combined to strike out 16 South End Batters. Offensively, Chris Santosuosso went 3-3 with a Home Run and 4 RBI, and Al Becker had 2 hits in the win. Hollywood Rodriguez kept the Bluefish at bay for most of the night on the mound for South End. The Best Moment of the Night belonged to South End's Naka, who sent everyone home happy by hitting a 2 out pinch hit single off of Bluefish Closer Kit Kadlec. Naka was heard yelling something in Japanese going down the line after the ball fell in to left field, and his teammates replied with bows and chants of "Naka, Naka" after the game.

For the Astros, Valdes had a solid game at the plate, going 3-4 & scoring a run.

Somerville recovering from a tuff Friday night lost to Revere. Jump out on top of a game South End team with 4 runs in the 1st.
Chad Feetham provided strong pitching going 7 innings allowing just 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 7. Marc DesRoches and Tom McDonough each had 2rbi's....McDonough also hit a HR in the sixth inning.

The Dodgers win their 3rd in a row to continue their strong finish. Shaun Farrar pitched very well, striking out 9, and letting up 2 unearned runs. Jarred Ryan stays hot, ripping 2 more hits, including a triple.

Josh Krieger pitched his first YBL win after 2 relief appearances on Tuesday. The Needham native out of Milton Academy & Cornell U is an impressive late season pick up. Josh McDonnell led the 15 hit parade with 3 hits (2 doubles) Josh scored 4 times. Steve Van Reenen, Jack Owens, Brendan McCann & Joe Orlando also pitched in with 2 hits each.

Medford wins their 5th game to g along with a tie in the past 5 days. Sean Gildea went the distance striking out 11 and walking 3.

Medford fell behind early and tied it in the 4th when Joe Pasciucco knocked in Mike Hudd. Medford fell behind again in the last of the 6th but came back to take the lead in the top of the 7th. After Pasciucco was hit by a pitch, Johnny Cunningham walked, Joe Sheehan singled knocking in Pasciucco and Buddy Hanley knocked in Cunningham on a ground ball.

Gildea threw a 1-2-3 7th to hold on to the win.

Bautista pitched a great game for the South End. He went 7innings, striking out 4 and walking 4 and only giving up 6 hits.

Jumping out to a 3 -2 lead in the first inning South End pitcher Elvin Bautista faced only 13 Savin Hill batters posting 3 up and 3 down in the 2nd, 4th and 5th innings to hold onto his slim lead.

But the Hornets bat's came alive in the bottom of the sixth as pitcher Joe Priestley lead off with a base hit getting to second on an errant throw.

Josh Hutchings (Whitman/Hanson) drove in the tieing run with a solid base hit. A base hit by Chili Davis (Whitman)and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out.

Paul Tritter's (J.P.) perfect squeeze bunt plated the go ahead run and the following batter rookie Rob Henry (Quincy) cracked a 2 RBI base hit.

That was all starting pitcher Priestley needed as he struck out the side in the top of the 7th to close out a dramatic come from behind victory for the Hornets.

South End scored 7 runs in the first 2 innings to jump all over the Rockies. The score was 10-2 before the Rockies staged a comeback and tied the game in the 7th, scoring 6 runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings.

Rodriguez pitched well for the Astros, leaving the game after 5 innings with a 5 run lead, but got the no-decision. Peguero and Santuro each had 2 hits for the Astros.

Mike Close had 3 RBI and Dave Mitrou and AJ Bucciarelli each had 3R scored.
