Facing elimination and down 8-4 in 7th, Gray Sox stage a furious comeback and score 5 runs to win 9-8. Dave Tomkins grounded a single to left to score the winning run with 2 outs. Sox hitters were patient all night as they walked 12 times. Big hits in 7th by Mahoney, Verecker, Twomey, and Locke. For Duxbury, Earlz was pitching on 2 days rest and had the heater working as he battled all night. Tony Catalano kept it within reach as he came in to relieve Kevin Moore in the 2nd, who was pitching well before leaving with back spasms. |

Great game at Feeley as Holmwood beats Metro Sox 6-5 to advance to next round. Dave Tompkins had a huge double in the 7th to tie the game at 5, and Bill Twomey's sacrifice fly won it. Kevin Locke was 4-4 and threw a runner out at home, and Sean Oconnor was 2-3 with an rbi. Tony Catalano pitched 5 strong innings and Sean Oconnor closed it out to pick up the win. Mark Moise and Jerry Dawson had 2 hits apiece for the Red Sox, and like always Mike Whately pitched well |

Good game at Breed as the Holmwood Gray Sox beat the Metro Red Sox 5-4 in 8 innings. Jimmy King had a big triple and rbi, Rick Alcorn had a double and rbi, and Larry Verecker won the game in the 8th with a 2 out smash, which went all of 35 feet before stopping on the foul line. Gary Keil pitched 5 effective innings, and Sean Oconnor pitched 3 scoreless innings to pick up the win. Mike Whately pitched well in the loss for Metro. |

Fresh off their Jim Holmwood Memorial game in Cooperstown, the Gray Sox bats came alive and pounded out 17 hits for a 14-0 win over Quincy. The attack was led by Rick Alcorn 3-4 rbi, Kevin Locke 3-4 3 rbis, Bill Twomey 2-4 1 rbi, and Dave Tompkins 2-3 with 3 rbis. Jim Mahoney was 2-4 with 2 rbis. Kevin Locke pitched a 2 hit shutout, striking out 9 for the win. Quincy showed alot of character for playing hard in a tough season for them in their first year. |

Dave Tompkins, Kevin Locke, and Ken Marks each went 2-3 with an rbi as the Holmwood Graysox beat a scrappy Townie team 4-3. Locke went the distance scattering 5 hits and striking out 7 for the win. Graysox went up 4-1 in the 5th but the Townies staged a late rally but fell just short. Mcdonald hit the ball hard for the Townies all night, and Bionno pitched well in the loss. |

Kevin Locke went 5 innings allowing 1 hit to pick up the win. As usual, the mosquitos were vicious. |
