The defending champs shook some rust off after a 2-week layoff and scored an 11-1 victory over the visiting Bison at Trum Field in Somerville.

Veteran Right-Hander Anthony Del Prete (1-0) made his first start of the young season, out-dueling the league's reigning Cy Young Award winner Garrett Colantino for the win. Deli scattered 4 hits, surrendering just 1 unearned run, striking out 3.

Hector Pellot launched his first home run as a Bomber onto Franey Rd. in the 5th inning, while David Lightbody's 3-run double in the bottom of the 6th walked it off for the champs. Desroches & Dziuba chipped in with 3 hits a piece.

The Spinners won their home opener over the Boston Bombers 5-2 in a rematch of last year’s finals. Mario Padovani earned the win on the mound, pitching five shutout innings and giving up two hits. Dan Blum came on in relief for the save.

Alex Benson and Kyle Maglio scored runs in the first to put Cambridge on the board. Drew Risk, Sean Merrigan and Brett Manley all scored in the fourth to pad their lead.

Bryan Safelle took the loss for the Bombers, pitching five innings while striking out two.
