Bombers jump out to a 1-0 lead in their BMBL semi-final matchup with the Somerville Senators with a 12-1 victory on a rainy Sunday at Malden Catholic. Mike Maguire's storybook season continues in the playoffs, setting the tone on the first play of the game by robbing Senators Slugger Ari Glantz of a home run deep in the right center gap, and then adding 3 hits and 3 runs at the plate. George Ziegler tossed a complete game to notch his first postseason win as a Boston Bomber. Zieg battled the elements, striking out 7 and surrendering only 1 unearned run. Lightbody, Desroches and Borghi combined for 8 RBI on the day, and Teddy Dziuba scored 4 times. Dave Martin reached 3 times on a perfect night at the plate for Somerville, while Sal Mendonca tossed a clean frame in the 7th, even though he stinks.
