Dan Godfrey tossed 5 solid innings of 1-hit baseball en route to his 5th win of the year as the Bombers improve to 17-4 with a 5-0 shutout of the visiting Waltham Black Sox.
Along with today's Bisons victory at Ross Field, the Bombers secure the league's best regular-season record and the #1 seed in this year's championship tournament.
Juan Parra's 2 hits/2 steals/2 runs paced the Bombers offense. Mike Maguire chipped in with two hits and Ted Dziuba added a pair of runs.
Doc Desroches also had a multi-hit game and closed things outs with 2 scoreless frames on the bump.
Zeigler and Matos were sharp for the Black Sox, keeping the Bombers' bats at bay for most of the afternoon. |

Thanks to an eight-run fifth inning, the Spinners found their winnings ways again with a 9-2 win. Drew Risk led the offense with three hits and two RBIs. Sean Merrigan contributed two hits and a RBI.
Dan Blum picked up the won, pitching six scoreless innings and allowing just two hits.
Waltham added two runs in the seventh to get on the board late and preventing a shutout. |

Senators win 4 in a row!
Trailing 8-1 going into the bottom of the 6th, Senators claw back and get a big 2 out bases loaded clearing double by Jon Barber to tie the game, 8-8.
Dave Martin came in relief and got out of a bases loaded jam in the Top of the 7th inning, getting a ground out and 2 K's.
Morgan Brown led the bottom of the 7th inning with a stand up double and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch. Ryan McCarthy then won the game for the Senators with a ball hit to left-field off the Trum Field fence for the win.
Daniel Sanchez went 3-4 with 2 RBI's for the Waltham Black Sox.
Senators improve to 8-8 and play again on Sunday @ Winthrop vs the Boston Dodgers @ 9am @ Ingleside Park. |
