Game 3 was highlighted by the pitching of 13 year BPL veteran, Dave Volante (6IP,2R,0ER,4H,5K). After a 1 out single in the top of the first, Volante retired the next 13 batters while the Braves took control of the game. Luke Harder finished the game with a 1-2-3 seventh, sending the Braves to their second Park League finals appearance.
Braves catcher Alex Joyce recorded 3 hits and second baseman Joe Boushell scored 4 runs.

Congrats to manager JP Songin and a classy Palmer Club on their first playoff appearance since 2016.

The Braves will take on the winner of the A's and TJO in the finals. Game 4 of that series is Thursday night, 8:00PM at West Roxbury High School with the A's leading the series 2-1.

Game 2 had plenty of action right from the start as the Braves scored 7 in the top of the first. Palmer made a comeback bid, scoring 4 in the third. They threatened again in the fifth with a leadoff double by Ty Cali. Jack Magone followed with a hard hit ball of his own but Braves third baseman Steve Rizzuto made a highlight reel play, diving to his left and holding the runner at second before throwing to first for the out. A Jim Perron line drive found the glove of Braves shortstop Hector Coscione standing behind second base to end the inning. That was as close as it got as the Braves added to their lead in the sixth and seventh innings.
Palmer centerfielder Aiden Hawley showed impressive range on several balls over his head and into the gaps while going 3-3 with 2 extra base hits.
Despite the long first inning, Palmer veteran Tony Trafecanty settled in and threw 5 innings keeping Palmer in the game.

Mike Smith throws a shutout. Donato very strong in a losing effort for Palmer as the Braves take a 1-0 series lead.

Braves open the scoring in the first when an errant pick off throw to first allows Haslam to score from third. They add another in the second as Fisher beats out a would be inning ending double play ball to short scoring Lindquist.

Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Fallon Field in Roslindale at 8:00PM.

PALMER CLUB CLINCHES PLAYOFF BIRTH!! Moose Bussiere was in top form (reminiscent of his Towne Club days) on this hot and muggy night. Moose went 5 strong innings striking out 7, scattering 6 hits, and allowing 2 unearned runs. Flamethrower George of the jungle Breslin came in for the 6th & 7th to slam the door shut. Offense was tough to come by; but "Mad" Max Iorio was able to get it going in the 2nd scoring on a big triple by Eric Shortley. Shortley would also score in the inning. Chris White would tally another run in the 4th, after hitting a single and motoring around the bases due to a series of miscues in the field. On this play White would have to leave the game due to a sliding mishap. The Suffolk players aren't used to actually getting on base, so the concept of sliding is foreign to them. The final run would be scored by speedster Jim Perron in the 5th on a single by youngster Jose Toledano.

With an offering of rum to Jobu before tonight's game the Palmer Club's bats came to life exploding for 13 hits and 13 runs. On a night Tony Trafecanty didn't have his best stuff he showed some real cohones by gutting out 5 & 1/3 innings striking out 8. He'll enjoy his routine day off tomorrow getting a full mani pedi at his favorite spa. Suffolk's George Breslin came in relief to close out the game. The offense clicked across the board with contributions from 1-9. Simple Jack Magane was 4-5, Eric Shortly used black magic to go 4-4 with a home run, and even "Mad" Max Iorio mustered a 2-4 game with a triple and double. Along with the offerings to Jobu the presence of Kyle Zembsch was key in the victory as he brought some much needed morale and former Towne Club presence to the team.

Matt "Lights Out" Donato continues his assault on opposing offenses; tonight throwing 5 innings, striking out 4, and only allowing 1 hit to get the win for Palmer. Skipper JP Songin rolled the dice by allowing "Mad" Max Iorio to come out of the pen for the final two innings and it paid off. He really cut into that ERA (thanks to outstanding defense in right field by the one and only JP Songin). Songin managed to have another multi hit performance as well going 2-3. Not a ton of offense on the night, but the team was able to put together good at bats and muster several walks that were key in this one. Defense on the night was spectacular as well.

The Boose was loose! James Boooo-siere pitched a dominant game securing the win. He allowed 3 hits and only 1 unearned run in this one. Veteran Flash Anderson entered the game in the 6th to get work in; he would strikeout 2 batsmen and pick up the save. Offensively the Palmer Club mustered just enough run support to keep the game out of reach. The offense was sparked by Richie "Tutti Frutti" McNamara (2-3), he walloped a triple to leadoff the 3rd inning and Palmer didn't look back from there. Manager Skip Songin was able to steer the ship with some shrewd maneuvering to get the full team involved in this win and get some injured Palmer players much needed rest.

Suffolk's George Breslin tosses 6 dominant innings in a bout with the Blue Jays. Breslin came out firing striking out the side to start the game and ended up K'ing 9 batsmen on the night. Tony "Snake" Trafecanty managed to slither in a win as he took over pitching duties in the 7th. Offensively this wasn't Palmer's best showing, but there was enough to get a win. Steve Gallagher striped a power hook to left center for a triple. JP Songin made solid contact for the first time in the last decade and drove a ball to deep right center, he mustered all his speed and was able to leg out a double. Suffolk's Chris White was 2-4 with 3 RBI's on the night. In the bottom half of the 7th with the bases loaded long time Park Leaguer Connor Rooney came through with the CLUTCH bases loaded walk to draw the game winning RBI. Snake Trafecanty would draw the winning run as he came in to run for battered and bruised Jim Perron

Palmer Club takes the victory with a huge performance from Matt Donato. The D-Train threw a 120+ pitch complete game, striking out 12 batters and scattering only 4 hits. The bullpen desperately needed a night off. This keeps Palmer in the playoff hunt as they won 2 of 3 this week. Offensively Palmer Club was led by Jose "The Vacuum" Toledano, JT was 3-3 on the night with a double and a pair of RBI's. He's referred to as the vacuum because everyone says he really sucks. WPI's own Steve Gallagher was 2-3 with a double and pair of RBI's as well. Gal's been spending a lot of time on the range working on that golf swing and it's really showing. Eric Shortley has been hot of late. He had his second straight multi hit game going 2-3 with a double and pair of RBI's. Will his hot streak continue????

Palmer came out aggressive posting 5 hits in the 1st and scored 3. In the 4th Palmer posted another 3 runs and tallied their last run in the 6th off an RBI double(almost triple) by JP "LongLegs" Songin. The "dynamic" duo of Songin and Perron were both 2-3 with a walk and both had a pair of RBI's. Simple Jack Magane was 2-4 and Suffolk's Brandon Bukowski was 2-3.

Palmer Club has a big bounce back game to close out the week. Matt Donato shoved for 6 innings scattering 5 hits, striking out 6, and allowing only 1 earned run. Rookie Michael James made his first appearance of the year to finish the 7th. Offensively Palmer was hot racking up 17 hits! Chris White got the start at 2nd base and went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 6 RBI's. John "Bones" Jones stayed hot going 3-4 with a double and 4 RBI's. Sadly Scuba Steve Gallagher broke his streak and registered his first singles of the year. To this point his only hits were for extra bases. Gal was 3-5 on the night with a double and 2 RBI's. Eric Shortly was perfect on the night going 3-3; thus proving that even a blind squirrel can find a nut.
