The bad boys of the park league continue to roll. Over the last 8 games Palmer is averaging 10.1 runs a game and are outscoring opponents 81-33 per the stat-casting team. Those guys are working late night over on Broadway street in South Boston crunching those types of numbers. "Moose" Bussiere shined again for Palmer going 5 strong innings and allowing only 1 earned run and scattering 3 hits. Kyle Zembsh came in for the final 2 innings to close things out. Big contributors on the night came from Palmer youngsters. Jack Magane was 3-4 including a double, drove in 3 runs, and scored 2 himself. Matt Falvey was 2-2 on the night adding 2 walks, 1 RBI, a pair of stolen bases, and 1 run scored on the night. MILESTONE ALERT- Chris Hoyt was able to get over the hump and reach career hit #300. The crowd went wild at Towne Field and the ball was collected for the old veteran Hoyt. Hoyt was overwhelmed with joy and quite possibly shed some tears. |

Palmer Club 4, ADSL 1
Palmer pulls off a victory on an unusually smokey/foggy Monday night at Kelley Field. The team was led by a spectacular pitching performance by the ageless wonder JP Songin. On his way to picking up career victory #1 Songin went 5 dominant innings striking out 6 batters, allowing only 4 hits, and 1 run. With the bases loaded, 1 out in the 4th, and Songin beginning to tire; he was visited by the pitching coach and it appeared Songin's night was over. Songin barked at the coach saying this was his game and continued to strike out the next two batters to close out his night with a bang. Kyle Zembch went an inning and 1/3 and with the bases loaded in the top of the 7th Pat Carbone came in for the close. The Palmer Club was able to scavenge 4 runs on the night. Chris Hoyt was 3-3 on the night with a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. This inches Hoyt even closer to the illustrious 300 career hit mark (But who's counting?) |

Grossman bats exploded in the first inning for 7 quick runs and never looked back.
Starter Colin Brodeur notched a W in his Park League debut, fanning 5 over 4 innings of work. The bullpen picked up where he left off. Packy Bradley-Cooney struck out the side in the 5th, Franz Strassmann tossed a scoreless 6th, and Frankie Hernandez, making his first Park League appearance on the mound, wrapped it up in the 7th.
At the plate, Raimiel Rodriguez made a splash in his first game, driving in 4. James O'Connor and Conor Evers also drove in a pair of runs apiece to spark the offense. |
