Tribe score 4 in first after two leadoff walks and two singles by manning and shep followed by
an error. Shep knocks in 2 more in 4th with clutch 2 out single. Tom Manning goes distance allowing no earned runs. Kevin Locke pitches well but hurt by defensive lapses. Sox score two in bottom of 7th and load bases when Ron Biagi hits a screaming line drive to left that Tony Campana grabs in a fully extended dive to end game. Tying run in Locke was up next...would have been interesting save the great catch!

Pretty well played game. Tribe takes 1-0 lead on 1st inning triple by John Sheppela. Phil Sartori
cruises thru 1st 6 innings aided by great catches in the outfield by Mike Jasper, Mark Kanegis and Jerry Breen. Sox had 1st & 3rd w/no outs in 7th but Sartori pitches out of it. In the mean time Jim Macdonald shuts down Indians with the aid of a couple of timely DPs. Sox finally break thru in 8th with clutch 2 out rbi double by Ed Marcano that just eludes the diving Jasper in right. Sartori strikes out Carlson leaving 2 in scoring position. Bottom 8 Tribe loads bases w/1 out. After aforce at home, 2 runs score on wild pitch/passed ball. Jerry Breen scores all the way
from second as throw from catcher gets by pitcher covering plate. Sox go 1-2-3 in 9th. Good game - excellent pitching on both sides.
