ADSL completes 3-game sweep to advance to finals for second straight year. The first eight ADSL batters reached and scored in the first inning highlighted by Eddie Riley's two-run blast (3rd HR of series). Four different ADSL players had two hits and two RBIs apiece.
ADSL pitcher Ben Gottesman picked up his second win of series with 4 strong innings on the hill allowing just one run.
Ted Dziuba and Chris DeGiacomo added home runs for the Athletics.

For the second straight game of the series, ADSL defeated the Boston A's in extra innings. The A's had runners on all night with ADSL pitchers Zack Wensley and Ben Gottesman escaping multiple bases loaded jams. The A's got on the board in the 3rd on a solo shot by Chris DeGiacomo. ADSL answered in the 4th with back to back doubles by Elliott (2-3, 2B) and Leonard (3-4, 2 2B) to tie the game at 1-1.
In the 6th, Gottesman relieved Wensley as the Athletics loaded the bases with one out. A force out at home, followed by a strikeout, Gottesman escaped the jam. Again in the 7th, A's loaded the bases, this time with no outs-which Gottesman escaped with a force out at home and a hard hit double play line out to force extras.
In the 8th, ADSL started a two-out rally with back to back walks and a three-run blast by Eddie Riley to give ADSL the 4-1 lead which led to the 5-2 final. ADSL takes 2-0 series lead. |

The Athletics jumped out to an early lead on doubles by Ted Dziuba (2-3, BB) and Freddi Carrera in the first. They added another in the 5th on another two-out hit by Steve Lambert.
ADSL answered in the last of the 5th with their own 2-out rally as Kyle Boudrias (3 RBI, HR) singled in a run, followed by a two run blast by Eddie Riley to take the 3-2 lead. In the 6th, the Boston As scored three runs on a big two-out error on a fly ball to the outfield to regain a 5-3 lead. ADSL did not go away as Boudrias cleared the fence for a two-run dinger to tie the ball game 5-5 in the bottom of the 7th.
In extras, Jason Leonard led off the bottom of the 8th with a double, followed by a sac bunt by Danny Brown and Int. walk led to a walk-off base hit by Matt McKinley for the comeback 6-5 win for ADSL.

The lineup contributed from top to bottom, including some much needed insurance in the 5th. On the bump, the A’s had a staff day, with 4 pitchers called upon. Dan Gaughan came out with the win for his first of the year. |

The A's hold on for a win at Towne Field. Luke Lewando settled in after an eventful 1st inning, and gave 6 solid innings, picking up the win. Ryan Corcoran came in to close it out in the 7th. After giving up 2 runs, the rookie recorded 3 consecutive outs, including 2 strike outs to garner the save. With the sticks, the A's started slow, but tied up the game in the 3rd with some timely hitting. Then later sprinkled a few runs in to give just enough cushion for the pitching staff.

The Athletics outlast Palmer Club on a drizzly night at Towne. Palmer club jumped out to an early lead in the top of the 1st, but the A's answered right back in the bottom of the inning plating 3. That was all Cam Fiorentino needed as he continued the momentum from his last start, and had another 6 inning outing, allowing just 1 earned run to improve to 2-0. At the dish, The A's put the bat on the ball from top to bottom, namely Nick Andrews and James Katsiroubas, who both added extra base hits. |
