Pinch hitter Conrad Paquette's sacrfice fly plated the winning run in this game suspended with one out in the bottom of the seventh from Aug. 21. The Cards had first and second with one out when the lights when out. And when the game resumed, Jeff James reached on an error before Paquette stroked a fly ball to left.
Jay Day took the win in relief and Kit Kadlec got the loss.
Dan Jalbert and Billy MacDougall each had three hits for the Cards.
Kadlec had three hits and three RBIs for the Mets.

The Mets came quickly out of the gate and put themselves in the playoffs in a game almost completely opposite from Game 1.
Four straight hits from Al Becker, Kit Kadlec (3 runs), Greg Cote (2 RBIs) and Dan Doherty in the first gave the Mets all they would need.
Bill Beauchesne (0 ER, 3Ks) worked four innings on short rest for the win. Kadlec came on to record a three-inning save.
For the Indians, Josh Hale finished the doubleheader with four hits.

The Indians used a 10-hit attack and took advantage of shoddy Mets defense to stay alive in the playoff hunt.
On the mound Jason Deveau pitched a complete game, striking out 3, and walking only 3.
At the plate Marco Abreu had three hits for the Indians and two RBIs. Mark Bowles has two hits and scored three runs.
The Mets got a two-run triple from Dan Doherty in the sixth to get on the board.

The Royals used a four-run fifth inning to down the Mets. Drew Kovalwicz knocked in the first two Royals with a third-inning single, and then tripled to give the Royals a big lead in the fifth. But the Mets got to Royals reliever Andrew Marenghi for four in the sixth, highlighted by a Greg Cote single.

Greg Kosc had 3 hits for the Royals and Jason Kurtz didn't allow an earned run in five solid innings.

Dan Doherty threw two perfect innings in relief for the Mets. Kit Kadlec continued his torrid hitting with two hits for the Mets.

Kurtz holds the Mets at bay while Drew and Greg provide the offense

Kit Kadlec had a big hand in helping the Mets to their franchise-record 15th win. Kadlec pitched four innings of scoreless relief. And in the top of the seventh, he scored the winning run on a passed ball, after a bunt single and two stolen bases.
The Mets got on the board early when Jay Joyce scored on the back end of a double steal, and Greg Cote singled in Al Becker. Tim Fortune's (two hits) RBI groundout plated Kadlec.
But the Dodgers fought back to score four in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Jose Alicea's steal of home.
The Mets got a solo run in the fifth, which set the stage for the Kadlec heroics in the seventh.
Alicea pitched very well for the Dodgers, and Marc DuBois had two hits.

Bill Beauchesne improved to 7-1 with a two-hit complete game. Beauchesne needed only 70 pitches and faced three batters more than the minimum because the Mets turned three double plays and catcher Jason Blye caught three runners attempting to steal. Offensively the Mets got all they would need in the first when Al Becker singled in Jason Joyce and scored on a Greg Cote single. Dennis Wassung also had an RBI single in the first. Kit Kadlec had two hits for the Mets and Jim Turner got a base knock.
Mike Elko pitched very well for the Athletics and Mike O'Brien reached base twice.

Jeff Cain threw a no-hitter against Kit Kadlec in a great pitchers duel. The D-backs started quick with a run scoring 2b by red hot Bill Schellbach. That would be all the scoring until the D-backs defense loosened up with a pair of errors in the 5th allowing the Mets to score 2 runs. In the top of the 6th with the D-backs down 2-1 Crhis Buckley delivered a clutch 2- run single off the out strecthed glove of Mets shortstop McManus. That was all Cain needed as he finished strong retiring 6 of the last 7 batters he faced. Bill Schellbach added another run scoring 2b in the top of the seventh to seal the victory, and the no-hitter for Cain doing his part for a severely damaged pitching staff.

The Mets continued to roll with an 11-hit attack in a 6-1 win.
Tim Fortune didn't allow a hit through the first four innings and evened his record at 4-4. Fortune allowed only two hits over six innings, striking out nine along the way.
Offensively the Mets broke out behind a Dan Doherty two-run homer and triples from Jay Joyce (3-for-4) and Brian Rochette (2-for-3).
The Mets got all 11 hits in the first three innings. Reds lefty Derek Garabedian (RBI) came on and pitched 3 2/3 innings of hitless relief.
With a third-inning single, Mets first baseman Greg Cote recorded his 100th career hit in his fourth MABL season.

Mets All-Star Bill Beauchesne pitched a masterful complete game six-hitter. He didn't allow an earned run and struck out five, while walking only one.
The Mets got all the runs they would need in the first when Kit Kadlec smashed a two-run triple to left. Kadlec then scored on an RBI groundout by Greg Cote.
The Rockies got on the board in the fourth when Kyle Philson and Neal Roper both laced RBI singles.
Geoff Sylvester was outstanding on the hill for the Rockies, allowing only four hits and striking out five.

Giants win in extra innings!! Mike Byrne drove in the winning run in the top of the 8th and Steve Corda shut down the Mets in the bottom to solidify the victory and get the win. Jeff Decoteau started for the Giants while Kit Kadlec took the loss after coming in relief for starter Bill Beauchesne. The Giants offense was led by Byrne with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Dan Dileo, Joe Albano and Jeff Decoteau also had 2 hits a piece while Steve Corda scored twice. The Mets offence was led by Kit Kadlec who had 3 hits and a walk on the day.

Kadlec leads Mets with 3 Hits. Byrne has game winning RBI , while Decoteau gets 2 hits and puts in strong effort on the hill..

Tim Fortune pitched a complete-game five-hitter as the Mets scratched and clawed to their seventh straight win. Fortune didn't walk a batter and didn't allow an earned run, while striking out four.
Offensively the Mets struggled against Chris Filiberto, who pitched a masterful game in defeat.
But the Mets broke it open in the seventh on a bases loaded triple from catcher Jason Blye. Earlier Greg Cote scored on double steal in the second and Craig Lloyd scored on a Jay Joyce single.
For the Braves, Swanson had two hits.

Bill Beauchesne pitched a complete game for the Mets, allowing no earned runs and only eight hits as the Mets won their sixth straight game.
Offensively the Mets were led by Dennis Wassung (2-for-4) with four RBIs, and Dave McManus (2-for-3) with two RBIs. Greg Cote and Jay Joyce also had a pair of hits for the Mets.
The Cards scored three unearned runs in the top of the first, with the big hit coming on a two-run single by Mike Greaney.
But the Mets clawed back and went ahead for good in the second on McManus' two-run single.
Conrad Paquette and Chis Caprio each had two hits for the Cards.

The Mets won their 5th straight and pulled within 1 game of the Giants as Tim Fortune tossed a 5-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over the Orioles. Chris Arenda matched Fortune inning for inning until the Mets broke through with 4 runs in the 6th. Fortune walked none and struck out 7.

Brian Rochette hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead in the 6th, and Dave McManus cracked a bases-loaded single that drove in 2 runs, with a 3rd run scoring on an error, to account for the final margin.

Over the course of the 5-game winning streak, Mets' pitchers are 5-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 3 shutouts, allowing just 3 runs (1 earned) and 22 hits in 35 innings with 45 strikeouts. Mets' starters have completed eight straight starts (excluding the game in Montreal in which everyone pitched).

The Orioles take on the Yankees tomorrow, while the Mets have a 12-day layoff before renewing their ancient rivalry with the Cardinals.

In the first matchup in the MABL's version of the Subway Series since 2001, Kit Kadlec (3-1, 1.13) tossed another gem in a complete-game 3-2 Mets win over the Yankees at rainy Ryan Field. Kadlec allowed 3 hits and no earned runs with 12 strikeouts. Jamie Mathews matched Kadlec on the hill for the Yanks, also allowing no earned runs through 5 innings. The Mets tallied the winning run in the 6th when Al Becker singled, stole second and later scored on an error. Kadlec retired the Yankees 1-2-3 in the 7th with 2 strikeouts to seal the win.

All-Star Kadlec gets the CG win; Mathews takes a tough no-decision; Becker scores the game-winner.

In a crisply played game in East Boston, All-Star Bill Beauchesne (4-0, 0.48) picked up the first shutout of his 4-year Boston MABL career. Beauchesne scattered 7 singles and walked 3 with 8 strikeouts. All-Star Kit Kadlec and Greg Cote combined to throw out Tyler Walsh at the plate on the game's final play to preserve the shutout.

The Mets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st on an RBI double by Cote, who tied teammate (and All-Star) Dave McManus and Gary Moran of the Rockies for the league RBI lead with 9, and a sac fly by Kadlec. Kadlec also drove in the Mets' 3rd run in the 3rd. All-Star Jason Joyce keyed both Mets rallies, scoring twice and stealing 3 bases-- 1 each after 2 hits and a walk.

For the Astros, Josh Vernon pitched well in defeat, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings. Vinay Chakravarthy tossed 2 hitless innings in relief. Dan Schumaker had 2 hits for the 'Stros.

Beauchesne delivers the shutout; Joyce keys the Mets' attack; Kadlec deplanes in time to drive in 2.

Tim Fortune went the distance on a 4-hitter, walking none and striking out 8, for his first win of the year despite a 1.81 ERA.

Dave McManus drove in 3 runs with an RBI single and a 2-run triple. McManus is now tied for the MABL lead in RBIs with 9. Greg Cote also drove in 3 runs for the Mets with a pair of RBI singles and a sac fly. Chris Sansone scored 3 runs, drove in another and stole a pair of bases on a 2-for-3 day. Dennis Wassung reached base all 3 times up, including 2 hits. Jay Joyce walked 3 times, stole 2 more bases to increase his league lead, and scored twice.

For the Cubs, Mike Pietrasiewicz had a single and a double and scored a run. Mark Andolina took the loss in relief.

Fortune hopes his hard luck is behind him; McManus continues to come through in the clutch; Cote builds a picket fence of RBIs.

Kit Kadlec hurled a 2-hit shutout as the Mets topped the Rockies 5-0. Kadlec (2-1, 1.46) struck out 10, including the side in the 7th, and walked 3 in the complete-game win.

The Mets jumped out to an early lead with a 4-spot in the 1st. Greg Cote singled home Jay Joyce for the first run, and Dave McManus clouted a 3-run double for a 4-0 lead. In the 7th, Cote singled home the final Mets run.

Cote and Kadlec each had 2 hits for the Mets, and Joyce stole 3 bases. Al Becker and McManus combined to throw a runner out at the plate and Kadlec, Jason Blye and Cote combined on a 1-2-3 double play to escape a bases-loaded, 1-out jam in the 6th.

For the Rockies, Chris Clark took a tough loss, allowing just 1 earned run and 5 hits over 7 innings. Brian Cooper (double) and Gary Moran had the Rockies hits.

In Montreal's Stade Olympique, the White Sox defeated the Mets for their 7th straight win. Bill Beauchesne (3 IP, 0 H) and Eamonn McDonough (2 IP, 1 H) started strong for the Mets and Sox, respectively but came away with no-decisions. John Howe notched the win for the Sox with 2 innings of no-hit relief.

The Mets struck first in the 4th inning to take a 1-0 lead when Jason Joyce walked, stole his 100th career base, and scored when Kit Kadlec reached on an error. The Sox tied the score in the 5th inning when Luke Foskett reached, stole 2nd and scored on a Jim Baldyga RBI single.

Foskett and Hugh Guilderson drove in runs for the Sox in the 7th, and Mike McInnis hit a 2-run triple in the 9th.

Dan Field (3-for-4) and Brett Rudy (2-for-2) also starred for the Sox. For the Mets, Chris Sansone hit a 375-foot triple to left-center and Dan Doherty drove a double to the base of the wall in right.

Luke Foskett gets his bat ready; Bill Beauchesne doesn't allow a hit.

The Marlins and Mets battled each other at East Boston Stadium on Sunday morning. Tim Fortune of the Mets went the distance while recording 5 K's in 6 innings of work. But it was Hiroaki "Hiro" Nakamura of the Marlins who came on in relief in the 2nd inning who would pick up the win while recording 6 K's, 3 hits, 1 ER, and 4 assists in 5 2/3 innings.

At the plate, Chris Ryan went 2 for 3 with a single, triple, stolen base and a run scored. Joe Montoya was 2 for 3 with a run scored. Karl Cyr and Davin Wilfrid also picked up clutch RBI's while each going 1 for 2. Paul Bracco went 1 for 3 with two more insurance RBI's late in the game.

For the Mets, Greg Cote was 1 for 3 with a double, walk and run scored.

The win marks the Marlins' fourth in a row!

Hiro picks up the win in relief. Chris Ryan and Joe Montoya each have 2 hits in the victory

Bill Beauchesne (3-0, 0.74) carried a no-hitter into the 7th before a clean single to center by Chris Demers spoiled the bid. Beauchesne walked 1 and struck out 6 in the complete-game win. Beauchesne induced 14 ground-ball outs and was aided by strong infield defense, including a spectacular play by SS Dave McManus on a deflection off the glove of 3B Jason Joyce. McManus added a 2-run single and scored a run.

Kit Kadlec reached base 4 times with 2 hits and 2 walks. Jason Joyce drilled an RBI triple in the 2nd and scored 2 runs. Al Becker also scored twice.

For the Orioles, Chris Arenda was terrific in relief, allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs with 8 strikeouts in 4 innings. The Orioles' run scored on a reverse-force double play on the game's final play.

Billy Bo tosses a 2-hitter; Jay Joyce rips a 3-bagger; Arenda hurls 4 strong out of the 'pen.

Garrett Fisher picked up the win with 5 strong innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts. Paul McInnis earned a save with 2 scoreless innings.

Fisher drove in a run in the 1st with a double inside the first-base line. The Mets tied it in the 3rd on a Greg Cote sac fly. In the 5th, the Dodgers got the game-winner on a 2-out hit from Andy Hickey. Josue Feliciano drove in an insurance run in the 7th on an infield hit.

For the Mets, Kit Kadlec pitched well in defeat, allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts and no walks in a complete game. Al Becker was 2-for-2 and reached base 4 times. The Mets left 13 runners on base, 6 in scoring position.

Both teams played excellent defense in very poor conditions.

"Thunder" Dan Shanahan carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and surrendered only two hits total,while striking out ten in a complete shutout of the Mets. He improved to 2-0.

The offense came early for the Giants, as they touched up Mets' starter Tim Fortune for 5 runs in the first inning. Jason Grenier delivered the big blow with a bases loaded single, followed by RBI's by Joe Cavalieri, Mike Byrne, and Steve Coyle. Grenier delivered the 6th and final run in the 2nd with a triple.

The Mets two hits came on singles by Chris Sansone and Brian Rochette. The Giants received sparkling defensive performances by second baseman Joe Albano and shortstop Steve Corda. The Giants improved to 2-0, while the Mets fall to 3-2.

Jason Grenier and Dan Shanahan help Giants win.

Justin Wetherby shut down his former teammates as the Mariners beat the Mets, 6-3. Wetherby allowed 4 hits and 2 earned runs in 6.1 innings, striking out 4. Tom Deveau earned the save by getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the 7th.

The Mariners took advantage of Tim Fortune's wildness to put up a 3-spot in the 1st. After a Steve Gray RBI double, the M's scored on a strike-3 wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk. Mark Balfe and Corey Aldoupolis had RBIs in the 3rd and 4th as the Mariners took a 6-0 lead. Gray and Jeff Rausch had 2 hits each for the Mariners. Jon Mead (2B) and Jaime Aldoupolis (RF) each made great diving plays in the field.

The Mets rallied with a 2-run single by Kit Kadlec in the 6th, and loaded the bases in the 7th before Jay Joyce hit a liner right to the third baseman who stepped on the bag for the game-ending DP. Kadlec tossed 3 perfect innings with 6 Ks.

Wetherby got the win; Deveau earned the save; Kadlec: 3 perfect IP and 2 RBIs

Bill Beauchesne picked up his 2nd win as the Mets' bats came alive in a 13-3 win over the Reds. Beauchesne (2-0, 0.58) allowed 3 hits and no earned runs in 6 innings, striking out 6.

Greg Cote had 3 hits and an RBI for the Mets. Rookie Dan Doherty had 2 hits and 3 RBIs, and threw a runner out at the plate from left field. Will Garnett and Dave McManus also had 2 hits apiece for the Mets. Rookie Jason Blye hit his first MABL home run as a pinch-hitter in the 6th.

For the Reds, Shayne Giuliano pitched 4.1 innings in relief and also picked up an RBI single. Jason Gesing and Chris Chase drove in the other Red runs.

Kit Kadlec scored on an error in the top of the 10th to give the Mets a 2-1 victory over the White Sox. Kadlec figured in both Mets' scoring rallies and picked up with the win with 4 shutout innings in relief. Tim Fortune started for the Mets and tossed 5 scoreless innings with 9 strikeouts.

In the 4th, Greg Cote and Kadlec led off with line-drive singles off Sox starter Brian Houlding and advanced to second and third on an outfield error. Brian Rochette followed with a run-scoring base hit to give the Mets a 1-0 lead. The White Sox tied the game in the 6th on a sacrifice fly by Mike McInnis. In the 10th, Kadlec drew a leadoff walk off Eamonn McDonough and, after another walk and an infield error, Matt Mead fought off a 2-strike pitch for a grounder that was booted at first base, allowing the winning run to score.

For the White Sox, Eamonn McDonough threw 5 innings of extra inning relief without allowing a hit.

Bill Beauchesne, Tim Fortune and Kit Kadlec combined on a one-hitter as the Mets opened the season with a 4-0 win over the Astros. Beauchesne allowed only an infield single in 5 innings, walking 1 and striking out 5. Kadlec gave the Mets an early lead in the 2nd when he reached on a bunt single, moved to second on a wild pitch, stole third and scored on Brian Rochette's single to center. In the 3rd, the Mets took advantage of Mike Vernon's wildness to put up a 3-spot on RBI walks by Al Becker and Greg Cote and an RBI grounder by Kadlec. For the Astros, Brian Dunton was outstanding in relief, tossing 3.2 hitless innings with 3 strikeouts.

Beauchesne allowed only 1 hit; Kadlec scored a run, drove in a run and closed it out on the mound.
