Fabian Alicea outdueled Andrew Marenghi before a partisan Royal crowd at Fallon. Alicea was brilliant on the hill as he picked up the complete game shutout. He also knocked in the game's only run with a bases-loaded single in the first, scoring Josue Feliciano.

Marenghi settled down after the first and shut down the Dodgers the rest of the night.

The game ended on an unorthodox double play. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Alicea fielded a comebacker and threw to Feliciano at short for the first out. Feliciano's throw to first was just late, but Kevin Beliveau fired across the diamond to third baseman Jason Hanson. Hanson applied the tag to the runner who had taken a wide turn around third with thoughts of scoring on the play.

Both teams played stellar defense throughout the game. The game was played at a high-level and was clearly a championship caliber contest.

Alicea the win and RBI, Marenghi brilliant in defeat, Gonzalez throws out both would be basestealers

It doesn't look like the Dodgers and Rockies will ever play a simple 7 inning game. In yet another extra innning thriller, the Rockies scored 1 run in the bottom of the 10th on a Gary Moran Walk-Off (Run-Off) HR to win. After spending 1.5 hours getting the field ready to play, the game started with each team scoring 3 runs in the first. By the third inning the score was already 8-7 as the Dodgers were hitting the ball hard off Kennedy, but the defense behind Kennedy was very shaky. The game settled down as both teams started playing a great game from the 4th inning on as both teams battled to score uneasy runs. Mike Close(1B,3B), Gary Moran(2B,HR), and Geoff Sylvester (1B,3B) each had a pair of hits on the day. John Sutich had 3 hits, all singles, and collected 3 RBIs. Brian Cooper pitched the final 2 innings and took home the W not allowing any runs.

For the Dodgers, Medina relieved Gosselin and finished the game.
